Before I start my wedding day recaps I need to start off by letting the hive know how my wedding day got put into perspective.
I have a 14.5 year old yorkshire terrier. I have had him since my 13th birthday and honestly do not know life without him. He has been deteriorating with old age in the past year and we honestly didn't think he would live to see the wedding.
The day before our wedding we had a wonderful rehearsal and a wonderful rehearsal BBQ at our house. Cody, my dog, was doing well, he was more active than normal with all the people around but he seemed happy to sniff everyone and walk around. At the end of the night people were starting to leave while I was cleaning up and Cody laid down behind me and started whimpering. I picked him up and he started whaling in pain. I took him upstairs to get him (and me as I am now crying) away from everyone and asked someone to get me my FI. FI came running and Cody is still in my arms whaling in pain, it seemed like there was something wrong with his front right shoulder. We decide it is best to take him to the emergency vet clinic and so we leave. I felt bad that FI and I left our rehearsal dinner without saying goodbye to everyone but Cody and I were in no state to hang around and say bye to anyone.
As soon as we get to the vet Cody stops his whaling and whining (isn't that always the way). When we see the vet he is still not putting much weight on his front left paw and he is limping. She says that it is likely he dislocated his shoulder but that he is fine. She gave us some rehab exercises to strengthen the joint and some pain killers for the pain.
We were both very relieved that Cody was OK but it really did put the entire wedding into perspective. The wedding itself didn't really matter, what matter's to us is life and the people (and animals) we have in our lives. My FI was amazing and 100% there for me and Cody even though we had a packed house. Together we sat at the vet office the night before our wedding at 10:30pm worrying about our little man. When we got home the entire house was cleaned up from the party and our brother's and SIL were waiting for us to get home to make sure everything was OK.
We go to sleep that night looking forward to marrying each other the next day and not worrying about all the little details because in comparison to what just had happened they didn't matter at all.
And it was a good thing that I had a new found perspective because I wake up the next morning and it is very cloudy and calling for rain. Our ceremony is supposed to take place outdoors in a gorgeous garden and so I am a little concerned with when we are going to make the decision to use the back-up plan (our reception venue) and call all the guests with the change of venue. But my loving FI reassures me that we will go ahead with the park and the weather will pass. So I give him a kiss goodbye and I am off to the hair dressers.
At the hair dressers I am a little more sullen then normal, with what had happened with Cody the night before and with the weather that doesn't seem to be letting up. But soon I snap out of it and everyone's hair looks lovely.

Just want to send a shout out to my awesome hairdressers, Side Street Salon - they did an amazing job on everyone's hair. And to Kathy, my hair dresser, my hair was EXACTLY what I wanted and it did NOT budge all night!
Thank you to my SIL Rachael Dover who took all of the pictures above.

Then we went home put on make-up and then it was time to put on the dress when the photographer arrived.
