My fiance has a habit of walking away without telling anyone what he's doing. He doesn't just leave me.. it's pretty much any group situation.. If something catches his attention, he's gone.
My FI is pretty stoic & quiet.... but all of a sudden he'll burst out with some overused teen saying like "Awwwww SNAP!" or "OH NO SHE DI INT" lol it's so out of character I fall on the floor laughing.
He will take on a project at a moment's notice. We were working in the garden one day and I look over and he's started digging a hole. When I asked what he was doing he said he'd decided to build a pond. Yes, that was the extent of his planning. We've now got a pond half the size of a swimming pool WITH ISLAND that LEAKS. One of the jobs for this summer is to get it looking nice again. But I did think it was pretty random at the time.
He tries to mimic my southern accent, and totally fails. It'll come out of nowhere, too.
He's German, so a thick-ish German accent trying to do southern is hilarious. There aren't any dipthongs in German, so he can't really do them... at all. Therefore he just sort of sounds... I don't know how he sounds, but it's not southern. lol
telling me what happened at work. he'll say "guess what this old man told me at work today" i love these stories it usually leads to a hilarious reenactment of some sort. he has been doing this since before we officially met.
Actually he's not random. I am. I'll just suddenly think of something so I have to share. Sometimes it's a song that I haven't heard in years, other times it's something about my day... these things just come to me!
OMG, so last night we are cuddling on the couch watching the Duggars. In the middle of one of the commercials he randomly says, "I think I want 3 kids!" I was like, wha what?! It was just so cute to hear him talking about kids and make me so excited for when we do finally start trying!
@fifty: that's so cute! I don't blame him, southern accents are addictive!! I'm always mocking my FI's southern accent... Whenever I come home from his place I have a screwed up Canadian-Southern accent! I'll randomly throw "y'all" into a conversation & people just look at me like I'm crazy...
Yeah, I'm really the random one in this littel family. The Dude is pretty predictable, haha.
He is completely adorable in his randomness. He is a great mimic and so he will do these hilarious re-enactments just before we are falling asleep. I always tell him that I fall asleep giggling when I stay at his place. He is also a tech geek and always fixing computers.
Lol, yeah, I'm a lot more random than he is. I blame my ADHD. :p
@RB: Mine's not even that bad. After living in Boston, I squashed it because people automatically thought I was stupid. (Yeah, stupid and an MIT student. Way to go, guys). Somebody actually asked me if I lived on a farm and if I had gone to school in a barn. He was like 5' tall. I could have squashed him.
But yeah, sorry, tangent. Whenever I get 'fired up' I will slip. He never misses that. :p
@fifty: you should have squashed him! lol I love that your accent comes & goes... I'm picturing an accent kinda like Reese Witherspoons accent in Sweet home Alabama :)
lol! I don't know what my voice sounds like. I avoid hearing myself recorded. lol.
I once made a (crude, forgive me) parallel about hiding a southern accent:
Holding in a southern accent is like holding in a fart-- the longer you hold it, the worse it's gonna be when it comes out.
My new husband is the most easygoing guy I've ever met. Getting him to make a decision on anything is a chore because he really is fine to just go with the flow. Then yesterday I mentioned I was thinking of getting my hair cut (time for the PWT) and he gave me a very concerned, "How short are you thinking about cutting it?". I was shocked! It was so random for him to have that kind of reaction to something that I didn't even think he cared about. Guess I'll stick to a trim for now!
Picking fruit. We can't walk past a black berry bush or an apple tree without him having to stop for at least 10 minutes. My guy likes to forage I guess.
Im ptretty much the random one but every now and then he supprised me with being a goof.
Fi is so random...he is really ADHD, he'll ask me a question, and literally interrupt my answer with a completely different topic. And never realize what he just did!
Drives me crazy but I love him...also, he is very random with music. It's pretty frequent that I walk into the house and he is listening to some band I've never heard.
I'm the really random one in this family, I'm always singing made up songs about stuff like "I'm looking at shoes on the web" song that I sang last night oh and purring, I purr or make noises a LOT (chalk it up to my ADHD)
He just stares at me and chuckles and says "you're so cute" I bust out into dance at randoms as well.
He is stoic and quiet but when we are alone he will crack me up with random comments like RecessionistaBride fiance does.
Oh I am far more random that he is. Often, I will think of something funny someone said, and just starting laughing. And laughing. Soon the tears are rolling down my cheeks, and he is givng me a weird look because I haven't explained what the heck I am laughing at. Then I explain it, and he is like "oh...". He says he loves my crazy randomness, but sometimes he hasn't quite figured me out ;)
@TPHoliday -- HAHAHH! I make songs all the time too! THe other day, it was "I took a picture of a bunny eating popcorn, I love bunnies, I love popcorn, yay for happy bunnies and popcorn." Wow, masterpiece, right?
he sings while he cooks. the songs are soooo whack! and he has to do this stomping thing with it. mind you, my fiance is 6 4 and 280. he loves to put my extensions in his hair and says, 'tell me i'm beautiful'. i say that to him all the time.
I guess it isn't random if he does it all the time, but he loves browsing the Disneyworld website. He is a total Disneyphile and is obsessed with the parks.

My FI is totally random; example: right now, we're watching the news, I'm post-a-thon-ing it up, and I look over and he is playing SOLITAIRE on his laptop. RANDOM!
