i have a simple soliatare ring. not a huge big or huge stone. but whenever i do anything, it gouges my ring finger and breaks skin and bleeds.. i had it sized to a 5 1/2 and the jeweler said it could have been a 5, but i was worried it wouldn’t fit in the summer. it’s a bit loose and can toggle back and forth but doesn’t fall down over my knuckle. is it just too big? it’s not the setting that hits my finger and makes it bleed, it’s the band.
thanks to anyone that can help

@roxymalone: toggling back and fourth is NOT GOOD. The rule of thumb is that it shouldn’t hurt while on, but should “resist” when taking it off. I can’t understand why the band scratches you…..is it rough? Maybe it needs to be polished more and possibly redipped? If it’s tight and no longer moves, that’ll help the gauging it does too

it’s not rough, but the band will slip and dig into my finger. not all the time but when i do something like stick my hand in my pocket or something. sorry i’m having a hard time explaining.

Mine isn’t a solitaire, but I had a similar problem. I took it to get polished and have the sharp parts worn down and rounded and it helped a lot – no more sore pinky finger. Good luck!

Mine does the same thing so I know what you mean! My band is very “square” so the sharp corners of the square make marks in my finger all the time if I have my ring bent over (like if I keep my hands in my pockets for an extended period of time or something). I think @Juliepants‘ idea of getting the corners rounded down a bit is a good one. I may even do that to mine!
