Friday was our 5 year anniversary, and I finally have my new ring! I absolutely love it! This is the product of months of debating exactly what I wanted, and I definitely made the right choice!
It’s MoissaniteCo eng689 in Palladium with a 1.25 Classic/unenhanced Moissanite. It’s a size 6.5. I was debating between Classic and FB, and I’m so glad I chose Classic! So far the only time I saw a hint of yellow was in the car while it was overcast, and only if I looked at the ring sideways. MoissaniteCo was very easy to work with and I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in Moissanite!
Here’s the reason for the poll (unfortunately). I quickly noticed a few parts of the ring that should be smooth, but are somewhat jagged (the bottom lines of the two triangles created by the cathedral–not sure what to call this). It is jagged on both sides of the ring. I’m sure no one else will ever notice it, but of course this ring isn’t for anyone else, it’s for me. I feel like my brand new ring shouldn’t have an imperfection right out of the box. Am I being silly and I should just not let it bother me? Or should I ask MoissCo to fix it? Could they even fix it?
Thank you for your honest opinions!

Ask them to fix it. Your ring should be perfect to you! No complaints out of the box 🙂

@ceebree: 1st – beautiful ring! TBH, I’d just pop it down to a local jewler and ask him to brush a file over it. I think that’s something they can do quite easily… they might charge you a minimal fee. I think it’d come up to less expensive than insuring it to return it to moissco….. and I know myself, I’d be so sad to part with it!

I would ask MCo to fix it. It shouldn’t look like that out of the box. It’s an easy fix but if you take it to a jeweler and something else turns out wrong, would MCo say your warranty is void? (Sorry – I don’t know a lot about the company and their practices)

It looks like they didn’t finish polishing it. I would def send it back!

That would annoy me to no end. Return it and tell them to fix it on their dime

That would bother me too. I would contact them to let them know about the issue. It seems like something that can be fixed.

Thanks for the encouragement, Bees! I sent them an email. We’ll see.

Happy anniversary. Your ring is absolutely beautiful. You paid for your perfect ring and that’s what should have been sent to you. Send it back and let them fix it.

I agree with the PPs. Your ring shouldn’t look like that right out of the box. You will probably be annoyed by it for the rest of your life, so you should tell MCo to fix it.

Definitely get them to fix it. Your ring should be pretty damn close to perfect by the time it gets to you, and you will probably notice those jagged parts and be annoyed by them forever!

Send it back until you are 100% happy.

It looks lovely on you! Happy (belated) anniversary!

I love it! Great choice, it’s gorgeous! I agree with the other bees, other people may not notice it, but if it’s going to drive you crazy then definitely get in touch with them and see what they can do. You spent a lot of money on it and it should be perfect!!
