Last week when I took my ring in to be sized the lady sized me at a 4.5. Usually I wear a 5 so I voiced my concern and she told me I had been wearing my rings much to large and that I would like a 4.5 much better because it wouldn’t spin. So fast forward a week I go to pick up my ring and it feels very tight. A second woman tells me that I am just not used to my proper ring size and that my ring is fine. Well it’s not fine ever since my fingers warmed up my ring is stuck and it is becoming increasingly painful. I don’t want to have it cut off becasue I love it and I waited so long for it.
I am so upset. Its late and I am sobbing. Does anyone have any advise on how to get it off?

Soapy water? I have put rings on a different finger getting them stuck, that’s what I used. Sorry 🙁

I am so sorry, that jeweler was just wrong!
Try butter, dish soap, or anything else slippery. If all else fails, try putting your hand in warm warm water and try to get the metal to expand.

LOTION .. lots of lotioin and soap …

cold, soapy water?
the coldness will make your fingers shrink a bit, soapyness will help slip off your hand

soak your hand in ice water to get your fingers to shrink down a bit! Then i’d suggest some sort of lubrication (maybe olive oil?)
Don’t panic! It only makes it worse!

Stick your hand in the freezer?

Hold your finger under cold water to help with the swelling.

ice cubes or run it under cold water to shrink your finger and theN use some olive oil for lubrication to get it off?
That sucks 🙁 I would take it back and demand it be resized for free. Good luck !

first off, take a few deep breaths. you WILL get it off (and should prob get it sized up after you do!).
this happened to me after trying on one of my mom’s rings, and my finger was red and swollen all day after i got it off, but it DID come off. here’s what i did: i ran my hand under very cold water so my finger would shrink and used a little soap as a lubricant and just slowly worked it off. it can be painful and feel like there’s no way it will come off, but you will get it! lots and lots of cold water!

I’ve tried cold water, soap, lotion and windex (don’t ask) and I just can’t think of anything else. I think I might actually be making it worse by tugging on it so much. I just don’t know what to do.

Cold tap to take the puffy down. then soapy water 🙁 I’ve just had to put up with the spinning. My jeweler suggested a ring snuggle. But you’re gonna have to take itback 🙁

@Fantastagirl: then maybe just try to relax and calm down for a few hours, unless there is an immediate danger of losing circulation in your finger
