@ChellFish22:  Maybe take it to another jeweler?  Sorry you’re having to deal with this, I hope you can get your ring back to the way you want it.

@ChellFish22:  I think you have every right to be angry, being mad at a business for providing poor service is pretty natural.  If you’re in the Charlotte, NC area I can recommend a very talented and skilled jeweler, or maybe some bees in your area can chime in with suggestions.  *HUGS* I hope it’s looking perfect for you soon.

Maybe use that diamond, scrap the metal (you can get a little bit of money for it) and buy a new setting at ANOTHER jeweler. Sounds like Kay sucks

We have the same setting!  My stone is round, but still.  I’ve never seen anyone else with this setting – ring twins!

I would take it to a local jeweler that has great Yelp reviews.  It might cost a bit to get it fixed, but your engagement ring is special and it should be as close to perfect as possible.  If you paid Kay’s anything at all to “fix” things on your ring, I would demand the money back.  Go to a new jeweler, show them exactly what is wrong, and I’m sure they’ll be able to fix it correctly.

I would seriously throw the biggest fit they have ever seen. In the store. At busy time. That is unacceptable and I am stunned that they think it is!

Edited to add: I am NOT a fit-thrower. My Mom was – I used to cringe – but I “get it” now. If you have to resort to it, then the company deserves it!

@ChellFish22:  Literally just returned my e-ring to Kay. They told FI he was buying a leo diamond. And that is not what he got. It really didn’t seem worth dealing with them beyond that point. Still I wish you the best of luck getting it repaired or reset.

You have every right to be pissed off in this situation. Believe me I would be LIVID and my SO would be pretty pissed too. The job that they did on your ring is completely absurd. I would get back to that store ASAP and talk to a manager and be very assertive that this is the last straw.
