My ring is hard to get off during summer too. When I got it, it was a bit lose when I was cold and felt uncomfortable with my fingers together, so I had it made 1/4 size smaller. Now it's really hard to get off when my fingers are bigger due to the heat, but it no longer comes off too easily when I'm cold (which is often) or feel uncomfortable. If it really bothers you, have it resized, but having it on the small side reassures me it won't fall off! If it gets stuck, try using some soap or lotion to help it slide off. Just never, ever have it so tight it cuts off your circulation. If that happens and you can't get it off, get into a bathtub of cold water and take it off stat.
WINDEX!!
Spray it around the edge of the ring. It should help it slide off!
My jeweler told me this and it worked a few times when I was bloated. Good luck!
I just stick my finger in my mouth if that happens. My problem lately is that if I wear my ring in the shower, it will fly off sometimes. (Sshhhh!!) I don't think I can get it resized because it'll screw up the engraving.
Sometimes no amount of cold water/soap does the trick...lol...it fits just find around my finger, it moves when i tap it, its just getting it over my knuckles that sucks. I am starting back up in the gym tomororw though so that may help the swelling go down once i am back into my workout routine.
That sounds really frustrating. Maybe gym + less sodium + more water will help. :)
I have that problem, too. Sometimes it just rubs my finger raw trying to get it off! Mine fits perfectly--no problems in the shower, gym, etc, unless i'm freezing and it still only comes off voluntarily but may spin around a little. If it's too tight definitely get it resized but otherwise, you really shouldn't have to worry about taking it off
I have that in the AM, once I'm up and awake it comes off no problem.
Apparently when your fingers aren't moving much (like when sleeping), they collect more blood and slightly swell. For some reason mine swell when I'm walking around too. I can't get my ring off when that happens, so I just don't take it off
On the other hand, try typing in a cold room. The cold and the movement will get the blood moving. That gets my fingers to shrink so much that my ring swings around loosely.
Sweetheartdealer: My jeweler told us the same thing!! We laughed and said "like my big fat greek wedding" But she said it was true!! I havent tried it yet though!
alishadsh4: you can get it bigger so that it fits over your knuckle and then get "beads" put in so that its not too loose when on your finger (keeping it from going side to side); My ring was a little too big but the Fi didn't want to get it resized and I figured when I get pregnant I'm gonna "blow up!" This way you can get them taken out later if you want! It costs us $48 if you were interested!
I second the windex suggestion. I keep a little travel-sized spray bottle of it to use at night and remove it. I would also suggest NOT wearing it to bed. My fingers tend to swell at night (no matter how much water I drink) and then it's just painful in the morning and won't budge.
Lotion?? Ive always used lotion and small turns and twists!
I'm the same if I wear it to bed! I know I sleep on my hands, and so they are always swollen in the morning and then it hurts like heck if I need to get it off for anything. I realized it's much easier to take them off at night before I go to bed, and then just put them on in the morning with the rest of my jewelry.
Ring resizing is free included with the purchase, so to resize it as many times as I want isn't a big deal. It is not painful at all because like I said, below my knuckle it fits perfectly, if not loosely at times, so its never painful or just too tight, it just cant get over my knuckle! I am going to give it a week of drinking more water/being back at the gym to see if it changes the swollness of my finger.
I have the opposit problem, my fingers are larger below the knuckle than the knuckle. However, my aunt has your problem and her rings are loose enough to turn around on her finger but don't slip off over her knuckles. Maybe you should just go up the 1/4 size for comfort if you don't think it will slip off. Does the jewler have a ring slightly large that you could try on before you commit to resizing?
I was always slightly uncomfortable for awhile, but the ring wasn't tight or refusing to come off. I finally bit the bullet and had it sized up a 1/4 size and, wow! I'm so much happier. And, yes, I don't wear my ring when sleeping. My fingers swell and it just isn't comfortable when I wake up.
LOL it is like My BIg Fat Greek Wedding!! If only it really did work on zits, I could use some help right now!!

so unfortunately I got stuck with having knuckles that are bigger than my fingers :( and everytime I am hot, or first thing in the morning, i am not able to get this ring off/on! (like right now...which made me think to post this!) my finger is all scratched up from when i actually do have to wiggle it off. However, on the days where my fingers are colder it comes off just fine with no trouble at all. I am not sure if I should get it sized maybe just 1/4 of a size larger, or leave it like it is seeing as how winter is coming. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
