So I play indoor netball socially , no jewellery allowed. ( netballs like basketball) so I was rushing there to make it on time, after my long day I of course had my ring on, the referee told me to take it off so I did and zipped it up in my jacket on the sideline, and after the game my jacket was there with no ring!!!!!! I feel sick , what do I do I haven’t told my fiancée yet cos I feel so stupid for being so careless . I’m insured but I feel like the biggest idiot and I never wanted to be that girl!!!

@nearlymarriedlass: First of all, I would file a police report. Then, get you a big glass of wine and relax! The GREAT thing is that ya’ll insured your ring. It’ll be fine. Who knows, it might even turn up.

((((HUG)))) that SUCKS. It could turn up.. did you let the place know you’re missing your ring? I hate that stomach drop feeling. Hang in there … you’re insured so you’re good but still (((HUGS)))

Oh, no!!! Oh my goodness, that’s so terrible. I’m sorry that happened. Don’t be embarassed, it could happen to anyone. Meanwhile, call your FI, file your police report and CHECK ALL PAWN SHOPS AND GOLD BUYERS IN YOUR AREA. You have a very small window in which to do this. I feel your pain: my mom’s house got broken into and they took all of my (late) grandmother’s jewelry. That made me upset. THEN my apartment got broken into and they took all of her jewelry that I had from her! …I think I may have had a psychotic break. They got my class ring AND they stole the jewelry box my engagement ring had been in JUST THAT MORNING. The advice I gave you is the advice the cops gave me.

@nearlymarriedlass: Oh I am so sorry! I’d ask to see if they have video surveilance. I would also report it to the place as well as the police.

I know is a long shot but this happened to a friend of mine and there was a super small hole in the pocket and her ring was in the lining at the bottom of the coat. So just be sure to double check the pocket and the entrie coat!

Oh my god I am so sorry!
Thank goodness you had it insured but of course you would still be upset. Did you check around the court very carefully? Maybe it somehow rolled out of your jacket. These things sometimes do happen. I would also check with the gym’s lost and found.

@nearlymarriedlass: oh my gosh, I am SO sorry!
I agree with the police report ASAP and consult your insurance company.
Its going to be okay, its just a huge bummer as well.
Was there a lost and found at the netball court? Or cameras?
I’d call the management there as well.

Im so sorry this happened to you. First, take a deeeep breath and know that its going to be okay! Youre insured, and thank goodness for that! Go grab a glass of wine, tea, or whatever to calm your nerves.
Double check your coat and pockets. It could be inside the coat itself, if there are any holes in your coat pockets. File a police report if you believe its been stolen, and dont be afraid to tell your FI what happened.
Know that youre not an idiot. In fact, you’re very smart for getting that ring insured. Best of luck to you!

I’m so sorry! I had my wedding band stolen by my ex best friend but luckily it turned up at a pawn shop. Like other PPs have said, make a police report. You will need it for your insurance claim if the ring doesn’t show up. Good luck, I know how much this sucks!

people can be so disgusting! file a police report and tell your FI right away. Luckily you have insurance. you will have a replacement in no time!

I’m so sorry! This sucks! The bees have already given you great advise.
My niece just had her iphone stolen last week – out of her zipped crossbody pocketbook while she was wearing it! People are just a*&holes.

@TheFutureMrsNguyen: holy crap, talk about a backstabber 🙁

In addition to a police report, I think you should formally notify the netball organization. They should post a bullitin for all players/staff, to see if someone noticed something. Someone could have seen the theft take place, without realizing, and may be able to come forward with information.
Good luck and hope it’s returned to you.
