My Mori Lee Blu Ruthie dress has finally come in and she is in my possession!!! It actually came in a month earlier than expected and I had to wait a week to pick her up, which was absolute torture. But, on Saturday I got to try her on again at the boutique and figured it is now show and tell time.
Very minimal alteration will need be done. I plan on losing a little more weight so letting out the hip area is iffy at the moment. The bust definitely needs to be taken in, cups added and I decided to go with a French bustle. Oh and in the pictures I am wearing a cheap petticoat I bought off eBay. It adds volume, but I think it might be too much. But, without it there is no real structure. So, I will have to play around with it. I also need to decide if I want to wear it without the sash that came with the dress. Thoughts?
In addition, one thing my sister did notice was that the zipper flip doesn’t lay completely flat and so I may get loops put in to utilize the buttons on the back.
Well, there you have it. I am so stickin’ excited about this blush beauty.
***Side Note: I overheard one the sales ladies talking about the length of time it takes to get a dress in. Interesting enough, dresses are cut in size order. So, if you order a size 2 and they are currently cutting all size 4 dresses, than you will probably have to wait longer than someone that ordered a size 6 on the same day as you. Enjoy that little piece of knowledge 😉

Looks absolutely amazing! I love the sash- adds some lovely definition to your waist and some fun sparkle.

I like it with the sash! You look great. 🙂

I like the sash but i think it would look better with a more blingy sash or one with a flower to add more definition to your waist

@mrschmura: My consultant told me the same thing about Mori Lee sizing and ordering. I don’t know if it’s true for every designer, but I was surprised to hear that. Seems like a smart way to do it.

@lightmist: Agree! But what a beautiful gown that is 🙂

@mrschmura: Beautiful dress! I voted for sash. Also, the petticoat you have actually looks perfect with it. What don’t you like about it?

@mrschmura: That dress is so elegant and lovely! I don’t think I’ve seen this one posted before … I love the detailing on the bodice!
I voted to go with the sash. I agree with the previous posters who mentioned it adds some definition to your waist. If you’re not crazy about that particular sash, you could always look for something else, maybe something with a little more sparkle if that’s something you think you’d like.

ooo it’s so pretty! i usually don’t go for super mermaid dreses, but that bottom is just SO beautiful and dramatic. it reminds me of jennifer lawrence’s oscar dress this year.
i voted no sash… though i’d be interested to see what your dress would look like with a thin sparkly one

Very pretty! I would wear a sash but not that one.

So pretty! I love the colour. I would do a sash, but not that particular one. Also, I think a smaller crinoline would be better. The one you have on is a little too voluminous and it’s making the skirt stick out a little awkwardly. Beautiful though!

i like the idea of a smaller/thinner sash like September29 mentioned. I would change that sash though.

@Bazingau: I guess my only real complaint about the petticoat is that the dress rests funny on it. Or maybe it is just my eyes.
