- Wedding: October 2011
I am writing this because I hope this review can help out other DIY brides. Sam’s club online bulk floral was recommended to me by a friend. I was very skeptical about ordering from Sam’s Club online because I was afraid of the “what if” factor- What if my flowers were late, damaged, dead, etc. Anyway, I did TONS of research, read reviews, met with vendors and finally came to my decision to do my own centerpieces.
I ordered Calla Lilies and Bells of Ireland from Sams Club. They came on time, I ordered them to arrive two days before my Saturday Oct 1st wedding (because that is what Sam’s Club recommended), plus it would give me a day to figure out what do in case of disaster… They came on Thursday as promised at about 11:00am. I anxiously opened the boxes to find these beauties!!!
The callas were a little closed at first, but that is expected, they opened up beautifully by the morning of the wedding.
We quickly put them into sanitized buckets and put them in a chilly dark back room to sleep for the night.
The pic below shows the bells of ireland, I didn’t get a photo of them when I first opened them. But they too were very nice.
The next morning me and a friend put my centerpieces together. About 6-7 calla lillies and 4 bells of ireland per 20″ tall square vase. The bottom of the vase had black river rocks and I added curly willow to each vase to complete my “modern-rustic” look.
Here is a pic of the centerpieces in totes ready to go, I forgot to take a pic of just one centerpiece, but when I get my pro-pics, I will be sure to post them.
I could not be happier with my decision to order my flowers from Sam’s Club online. I got SOOO many compliments on them at the wedding. I think especially because I did them myself and my guests were so impressed, not to gloat 😉
They bells of Ireland lasted about 2 weeks after my wedding! The Callas lasted about 5 days after my wedding.
Each centerpiece ended up costing my $20.00 each, I made 11 total. Plus I can re-sell the vases, curly willow, and rocks on craigslist and make at least half of my money back. Overall it saved me hundreds on flowers and it was one of the best decisions I made!
