Oh wow that is SO pretty! I love it!
And seriously taht is the sweetest story ever =]
This has to be one of my favorite non-diamond engagement rings! I absolutely think it's beautiful! And what a nice job you did taking the pictures!!
Oh my god! The color is exquisite! It's sooooo beautiful. It's big but definitely looks real! Soooo gorgeous and unique. I bet you can't stop looking at your hand!
That is fabulous! I am hoping for a peridot ring just like that sometime soon... haha maybe I should start hinting!
Congrats!!!!
WOW. What a fantastic sapphire! That is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations, Serya!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Congratulations!
My proposal was also a very private, simple and intimate moment and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
That is exactly the kind of ring I've been looking for-- is that a checkerboard cut? What is your company? So beautiful!
beautiful!! hey can we start a sappire engagement ring club? i just get this wierd 'you're awesome' feeling when i meet someone else who has one.
@j.grossman13: We sooooo should start a club - I'm the same about other sapphire girls!
@Ginevra: It's a cushion cut and we got it from a local jeweler - feel free to PM me for details
@ everyone else: Thanks for the compliments and sorry it took so long for me to come back and say thanks!
I have to add to everyone's sentiments: it's absolutely gorgeous!!!
I am really happy with my sapphire engagement ring, as well as the sapphire earrings that my husband gave me to match them (as a pre-wedding gift). I was not at all happy when he told me that he "found some cool guy on the internet in Thailand" to make the jewelry. Yikes!!!! I was terrified that he would get ripped off or that my most valued posession would be fake. But in all fairness, my DH had done his research and got reviews from forums that have a lot of gemologist members. Dave at Tip Top Gem is a gemologist from GIA and we are sure to have more jewelry made with him in the future. I am biased about my sapphire, but also I know what we saw at our local jewelry stores and not only is mine FAR more beautiful but it was less expensive. Also it came with an independent laboratory report- Dave did not choose the lab, my husband and I did. My sapphire was unheated so a lab report was important to us. We went through a very pleasurable experience of trading emails of ring designs and Dave and his wife Melanie (they work together in Bangkok) took care of every little detail. They shipped FedEx fully insured and I still can't believe how beautiful the sapphire is. I just saw so many sapphires that were way too dark (almost black) or that were cut poorly and didn't sparkle at all. I'm no tech wizard but maybe I can figure out how to post a pic.
OK sorry for the double post but I had to wait for DH to show me how to post a pic. This is actually not a pic but a CAD image from the computer- Dave and Melanie had their artist do this rendering so we could see how the finished product would look. And when we got it from FedEx it was exactly the same- OK, maybe more beautiful in real life. LOL.

Wow! That is stunning! I now have a serious crush on your ring! Congratulations, such a sweet story. Really happy for you!

Yesterday we got the call that my ring had come in - it was all I could do not to rush out to the jeweler and get it myself. I restrained myself and am so, so glad I did!
I work 3rd shift so I sleep while the kids are at school, get up just before school gets out, take care of homework, get in some face time with the kids, make dinner, clean-up, deal with bedtimes and then grab another quick nap before I head out.
So there I am snoozing away with our dog snoring like a chainsaw beside me when I hear the door to my room creak open. Being a mom, before my eyes were even open - before I even knew who was coming in the room needing something, I said, "What's wrong?"
"Just that you're not wearing my ring yet," said my guy, "But I'm going to fix that right now."
And he put the gorgeous ring we picked out on Valentine's on my finger.
I know that my moment is totally not what most girls dream of but it was so perfect for me - waking up to my own prince charming giving me such a gorgous statement of our love was just so amazing. And hey, any man that loves you enough to propose when you're wearing ducky pajamas, have no make-up on and total bed-head - that's love!
So, here's the ring - much better pictures than the first one I posted! I'll probably post more as I am totally in love with it!
So sweet!
Lovely!
