- Wedding: June 2011
First of all, I drove one hour to go see this seamstress because the only seamstress in my town of 10,000 people is busy with a death in her family. So I walk in the store, put on my dress and the seamstress basically tells me that the dress is too small and I’ll need to order another one. I told her it took me six months to get the dress in and that my wedding is in 20-some days!! So I started crying, naturally. WTF! She tried to do up the dress zipper but said there was a good inch or two that she couldn’t do up because it wsa too small! Her advice? Take the dress back to the store and have their seamstress deal with it.
So, I drove an hour back to my house to pick up my passport as the store I bought my dress from is in the United States! And then I drove an hour back to where the seamstrses is located to pick up my Mom and daughter to come with us. THEN we drove two hours to the dress store! So, at this point, I had already drove 5 hours!
We get to the store, the saleslady helps me in my dress and, don’t ya know it, it fits!! Apparently I didn’t adjust my boobs just so when I tried the dress on with the seamstress. The clasp above the zipper had to be moved just a little bit but the sales lady at the store did that in five miuntes for us. But now it fits perfectly without any alterations.
Crisis averted! But I could go strangle that friggin’ seamstres! She led me to believe I’d have to order a new dress or just buy one of the ones off the rack at the salon! Gosh!
So, all in all, I have drove 9 hours today with a 2.5 year old but I am so glad the dress fits!
