Bees, this is devestating! Lol
My Shark Steam Mop has finally bit the biscuit. I try to keep down on the chemicals because a) They’re not good for us b) We have pets and c) My Fiance had cancer so he’s leery about that kind of thing. Our apartment is all tile floors and I’d use the steam mop once a week to clean them.
So, those who use steam mops; what brand do you use?

@rcac1208: Ours died after 2 years this week. We bought the version that pumps. I hate it.

@CreatureFromTheBlackLagoon: Ours was the one that pumps too. I hated having to pump it so I probably wouldn’t get another one like it.

We had a shark and it the square head got clogged after like 4 months cuz of our hard water… We used the triangle head for over a year after that and we have a new one now… They are my favorite! It’s a bit more upfront but you can wash the pads and I feel real good knowing the steam is killing all the yuckies!!

We have a Bissel and I love it. I use pure distilled water to make it run easier on the internal componants. It comes with these scent discs but they give me migraines so I threw them out. It handles really easily and it cleans all of our tile without me needing to refill the tank, unless I have a huge spot that is super sticky or dirty and I end up scrubbing the hell out of it. It comes with a plush mop pad which even works for spot cleaning carpets & upholstry and it comes with a scrubber mop pad. The mop even has a little scrubby tool you push down with your foot if you really want to kick something’s ass.
I switched because I was using pine sol and I noticed my dog would lick the floor (Don’t ask… he’s really dumb.) and I didn’t like the idea of the chemicals sticking to the pets feet or my dog’s face. He’d probably give himself cancer because he’d want to make friends with it.
ETA: The day I got it, I had just traditionally mopped the floors. re-mopped with the steam mop and the pad bottoms were a deep red! Oklahoma has iron rich soil so our soil is a bright red, and the steam mop pulled up all sorts of soil from the nooks & crannies of our tile. I thought it was clean, but it wasn’t!
