I just wanted to post a little something about my shiny new white sapphire e-ring, since back when I was still researching this stuff I read everything I could find online about white sapphires!

I've always felt a little iffy about diamonds, just because I'm not a huge jewelry person and it's hard for me to justify spending *that* much money on an e-ring when we're also saving for a down payment on a house and stuff like that.

I wasn't sure what to do until I discovered white sapphires and absolutely fell in love with them! And here's why... My fiance and I both have birthdays in September. His is the day after mine. Ever since we met, this has been a really special thing with us. And of course the September birthstone is... sapphire! I considered some of the other colors of sapphires (I love the light pink ones!) but I think I would've gotten tired of a colored stone after a while, and obviously I want to be wearing this ring forevvver!

We had talked about the white sapphire ring idea before we actually got engaged, and he let me pick out my own ring after he proposed on December 20th. :) I ended up finding it on the website of a jeweler from England, Paul Wright Jewellery. It's a 1 ct. white sapphire set in white gold with tiny little diamond "shoulders". I love that it doesn't really look like a diamond or a diamond substitute. It's much more of an "icy" white, and very sparkly! And best of all, I love that it has a sentimental meaning to us. :)

It was kinda weird buying a ring from England without seeing it in person first, but it's even more beautiful than it looked in the picture and I love it! Have I mentioned I love it? :)

It is beautiful I love White Sapphires! :o) They're amazing, and you're right they very much do look like "ice." It's a very pretty setting as well!

Oooooh I love white sapphires. They are beautiful and distinctly different from diamonds. Gorgeous and smart choice! Love the setting too!

Thanks everyone!! Smile Yes, I love the setting too. Simple but not too simple, and different enough to make it unique. When my friends and family saw it, several people said, "that is so YOU!" It just fits my style very well, and I love that about it.

Gorgeous.  I love the way it shines, it is different from the way a diamond looks.
