I don’t like to be the cener of attention — in fact, i don’t think I was ever the center of attentions before! will I have fun at my shower or will i be a ball of nerves the entire time? need some reassurance please 🙂 please tell me showers are full of laughter, fun and good times!

They are full of laughter and fun times, AND lots of guests talk amongst themselves rather than attacking the bride with questions and jokes.

i hope you have an amazing time! just remember, everyone is there to celebrate with you (: all of the showers i’ve been to (and remember) have been full of laughing and fun stories, and all around happy times.

OP! Mine is next weekend and I feel the same way! I plan on eating a bit beforehand so that I can get away with a glass ot 2 of some wine to “take the edge off” 😉
Good luck, don’t be too nervous and have fun!

I’m nervous, too! I hate center of attention as well! And I dislike surprises.
All that attention for ME???? NO WAY!!!!
Honestly though, I think we’ll be too busy to me nervous. I plan on telling my gf throwing me one that I’m nervous and to check on me. At the family, I’ll ask my mom.
I get it!!!

@Starling13: Oooh, good idea! Mine is technically a luncheon but I’ll make sure to have some food in me so I can imbibe a bit to ease some frayed nerves!
I also don’t like being the center of attention but I am also seeing these people for the first time in months (I live in another state) so I’m hoping I’ll be so happy over seeing them the nerves won’t even be an issue.

I understand the feeling and have wondered the same thing! But you’ll have a great time, because all the attention will be coming from friends and family, people you know and love. Have fun 🙂

@mrs_pudding_pop: For me i think the nerves will subside after the forst 10-15 minutes (and first glass of wine!!) but initially I expect to be a blubbering mess who will be mindlessly thanking all of FMIL’s friends for coming and conceding that “Yes, I am such a lucky lady! And I am so happy to see you all here”… or something along lines of whatever automatic not at all rehearsed 🙂 jargon I come up with..
The first of 3 showers is this Saturday.. and TBH I am just a bundle of nerves over it… yikes..
