It sounds like she hasn’t had it easy. She deserves a little happiness. Hopefully she finds someone who is right for her.

@jbbs1222:  I’m sorry she is having a hard timeand I hope everything turns out for the best.

But may I ask why she was so overweight?

Because in many cases people become very overweight due to poor eating habits and no exercise. In that case I tend to not feel sorry for the person. nowadays we have so much information about nutricion that being obese or overweight is a personal choice and I tend to not feel sorry for these people at all.

Is this comment necessary in any way?

@jbbs1222:  *HUGS* to you sister, I hope she finds a good man that will cherish her.  I know a few couples that have adopted children and both families are very happy with their adoptions (the kids are all soooo sweet).  I wish her the best!

@jbbs1222:  Yay! I hope she finds a great guy!  A few years ago I tried to trick myself into believing that I didn’t ever want to get married but I think it was because I was afraid that I would be so disappointed if it didn’t happen.

@walnutgirl:  I would imagine that certain medications, probably for her depression, contributed to this.  Regardless, her sister chose a course of action that should’ve helped her but has apparently backfired, which is something I feel definitely deserves at least some sympathy.

@walnutgirl:  Seriously, threadjacker? You should start your own spin-off and get some flame retardant material ready.

@jbbs1222:  I’m sorry your sister is having such a hard time. Many times, weight loss surgery can unmask underlying health issues. My friend had it done and it unmasked a serious endocrine problem that she deals with to this day. I think the best thing you can do is show your sister love and compassion and lend a listening ear. Good luck to her. I hope it all works out.

@jbbs1222:  Are their group counseling sessions she can do to? For the depression, or bipolar or something related to gastric bypass? Maybe one regarding women who can’t have kids by circumstance?

I ask becasue #1 I think it’d maker her feel better to talk to people who are going through the same thing. And #2 who knows! She might meet someone there! (Not saying that’s why she should go though lol)

@housebee: It is very sad that the procedure didn’t help her not to mention unfortunate!

I was mostly curios because I think the way we treat our body is very important in regards to how we deal with life and how other people see us. If you eat junk food at every meal, never walk or do any exercise and put on so much weight that you can’t lose it through diet and exercise but need an operation then you should first maybe think about your life first and how you see yourself.

Having good eating habits and a healthy lifestyle is important and an expression of love for yourself and I think when you love yourself it’s easier to be in a happy relationship.

So I think that if the reason she gained so much weight in the first place is unhealthy lifestyle maybe she should first work on her self confidence and just generally on herself before finding a husband and adopting a child.

@jbbs1222:  This was a really sweet post.  I am so glad your sister is finally in a position to realize that she deserves the same type of happiness so many others have, in the love/marriage/children department.  It does not matter her size/shape, but rather that she is ready, willing and able!!
