So yesterday I was visiting my sister and bringing her some food I cooked. Suddenly we started talking about jewelry and she took her tiny box out where she keeps the few pieces of jewelry she has.
And she took these three vintage rings she bought and told me to try them on. They fit and she said take them. They are your engagement gift! :-O I did not know there was such a thibg as engagement gifts other than the ring your FI gives you but although I hesitated at first probably out of a bit of shock, I hugged her and thanked her. One has two little blue sapphires and diamonds, the other two rubies and diamonds and the other has tiny emeralds and diamonds. Soooo pretty! I think she really realized I love colored gemstones and although she was shocked when I told her my ring won’t be a diamond because I prefer color, then she realized she had the perfect gift for me I guess 😀 Engagement gift sounded weird and not something in our culture but I won’t complain and certainly love them and are grateful!

That’s so neat! I have two sisters and have come across something that I just know is “them” and keep it for a little surprise gift for what ever. I know if one got engaged and I have something for them I would call it a engameant gift. It’s not odd at all!

Thanks everyone! I really love them. And I love the gesture even more. Now I’m taking them to the jeweler to resize them because they are a bit big and I’m worried about losing them.
I might just ask them to add one of those things to make them fit a bit more tightly. They are not super big. But I want to feel they are safe when I wear them
