So my mother gave me my great grandmother’s diamond ring. The setting was beautiful but not something I’d wear and my mother was VERY sentimental about the setting. So I had the jeweler fix up the setting and replace the diamond with my mother’s birthstone and am going to give it to her for her birthday. Then I took the diamond and had it reset into a beautiful white gold tuilp head solitare. It’s just gorgeous and no pictures do it justice but I thought I’d share.
First I’ll post the original ring

And here’s some ring porn of my new ring! I’ll be wearing it on my left hand when my ering and wedding band are soddered together (and I’ll wear it down the aisle) and then after that it will be my right hand ring!

That is REALLY cool. What a great solution! The new setting looks lovely. How lucky are you to get a beautiful heirloom diamond to put in it?!! 🙂
