@Steampunkbride:  It looks like you captured such a sweet moment. I love it!

How did they meet? I always love seeing people (Americans marrying someone from the UK) in my shoes.

And yes, you need to post your own wedding!

@Steampunkbride:  Congratulations, Mummy! 🙂 What a lovely photo, and an even lovelier story about how they met. The way to a man’s heart really is through his stomach! 🙂

@Steampunkbride:  Aw, sweet story! So now will she be staying in England on a spousal visa?

@Steampunkbride:  Yes, it’s so expensive. That’s why we decided to forgo the fiance visa and remain apart, and then just jump straight to the spousal one. It’s much better than getting a US visa though, so I am thankful!

Glad they get to be together now and not fret about visas for a while. 🙂

@Steampunkbride:  Oh, I know. The Border Agency has never been kind to me. When I stayed for two months last summer they questioned me for a solid 20 mintues because they couldn’t understand how I could stay for so long and didn’t believe I’d leave. Interesting to hear it wasn’t just me!

And yes, it’s so costly in the end. Spousal visa, indefinite leave to remain… totaling into the thousands easily. Not fun. :/

From what I have seen though, the UKBA is much quicker than other countries in processing these visas. I am hopeful we won’t have to be apart for too long after the wedding while waiting on the visa.

But yes, it’s worth it all. I love it over there too, and of course will do whatever it takes to keep my FI and I together.

And again, another sweet picture. You can tell they are just smitten!
