My son was married last Saturday, May 25, and I was very pleased with their ceremony. Everything looked beautiful and was thoughtful, but it was also very meaningful. We mothers poured dirt onto a tree, symbolizing the roots we have given our children. Later, the bride and groom watered the tree.
The bride and groom did a footwashing ceremony. I’d never seen that before, and it was very moving. The pastor’s words on marriage were wise.
It was a rich ceremony, with purpose and meaning. I feel very blessed that my son has married such a wonderful girl, and I wish them God’s blessings.
