- Wedding: April 2014
After not being qutie sure if my wedding was going to go ahead from my husband having an accident http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/in-sickness-and-in-health-3/#axzz3Bc0dhjDd, here I am now a married lady with some fantastic wedding memories and photographs to boot. We had a spring wedding in the UK, getting married in my family church and having our reception at a local hotel that we had exclusive use of which was awesome. I had originally wanted a strict colourscheme but I soon decided to just have a palette of spring colours – a top tip to help keep prices down, especially for your flowers! It meant I could get whatever flowers were in season in April and have everything looking natural and fresh. Here is my wedding in a some selected photos
Getting my hair done whilst playing Avril Lavigne on my phone!
And finally, after months of waiting, I was putting my dress on!
And my Mam and my 2 bridesmaids cutting the tags off their dresses just as the car arrived! So funny!
The church all decorated (by us the night before!) ready and waiting
And soon it was time for me to walk down the aisle with my Dad. My hubby didn’t get a chance to turn and look at me coming down the aisle because, in the words of my Dad, I ‘galloped’ down the aisle! I got a rush of adreneline just outside the doors and thought ‘right, let’s do this!’
And our beautiful ceremony – our reverend came and visited my husband in hospital during his recovery and helped us to work through whether we should postpone our wedding so it was really meaningful that he married us
Me and my girls
Then we took a 1939 Studdebaker Commander, as chosen by my husband, to our venue where we had pimms and canapes
And then was lots of mingling and our fantastic 3 course dinner and the speeches. I literally could eat that meal everyday it was soooooo good!
Here is our scrummy un-iced victoria sponge – it went perfectly with our relaxed Spring theme and I loved it. My bouquet is alongside – if I could have just one of the material things from my wedding for a day again, it would be my flowers. They were perfect for me!
Soon my new husband and I went and had some photos taken in the garden on our own
And before we knew it it was time to have our first dance (which he did sooo well at given he shouldn’t have been on his feet!) and then party the night away!
