- Wedding: December 2013
Ok so i’ve been meaning to do this for a while!
I’m an avid strasser. I’m ALL. ABOUT. THE. BLING!!! I’ve strassed about 20 pairs of shoes in the last year (not all for me! I wish!)
So here’s my little thread on my strassing world for my wedding in December. I’m using Preciosa crystals as opposed to Swarovski because I prefer their AB crystals.. they’re not as pink tinged as Swarovski’s.
Pair 1) So I purchased a pair of shoes on a whim with a view to do them based on CL’s Cinderella shoe (below)…I still might do them if i have some crystals left over….
But then I started thinking about what i was going to wear on my feet when I waltz down the beach aisle….. stiletto’s just wouldn’t cut it. We’re on a budget (she says spending a good whack on crystals!) so i can’t envisage FI wanting to fork out for a nice walkway just so i can wear heels! Besides, it’s just us two so I can’t justify the added cost. I’d much rather buy a second pair of shoes… or wedges.
Pair 2) I remembered a pair of wedges I’d seen in the shops last year, and eventually won a brand new pair off eBay for £16! But they have quite a decent platform on them and would mean they were taller than my first pair of heels. I might paint them a different colour… pale pink and do the bow in black with some strassing just on the bow. (To match our colour scheme).
Pair 3) So then one day, i’m glancing round the net and found a Nine West pair of hidden platforms/peep toes in the sale. And they were a metallic pink/gold, which would be ideal as a base for my strassing. FI went nuts.. but I got them for nothing in the end due to total cock-up by the site I ordered them from.
Scuse it being on it’s side!
This was the collage I put on my Instagram
This was taken in my wardrobe mirror… it shows the sparkle!
Now onto the second shoe. Then to not wear them until the wedding. Eeeeeek!
Pair 4) Then I have a secret pair I’m going to do that are a bashed up pair of silver 50’s mules. (I say secret… FI will go even more nuts if he knew!) They’re for my reception dress for our party back home.
NO ONE NEEDS 4 PAIRS OF SHOES FOR THEIR WEDDING!
Then I’ve got a 50’s lucite purse that my mum gave me… I’m trying to refrain from doing a bouquet holder for my brooch bouquet. I really need to stop!!!
