Haha, it's really funny to me when people who are not immersed in the world of wedding planning try to tell you how your wedding should be. Don't pay attention to those silly naysayers. We all know candy buffets and photobooths are COOL!
Of course you must have the bouquet toss, garter, hokey pokey, macarena, cake smashing and that's it! No candy for you, CP ;)

i'm sorry the yahoo answer boards annoyed you - I totally understand though...anymore when I go on them - I just look at those answers for laughs because any question I ask (I never post, just google a question and yahoo answers usually come up) - but the answers to those questions - and even the questions themselves are just down right infantile. :P
I've browsed the wedding section there and they do tend to get their panties in a bunch over the strangest things. But consider the source since many of them do ask if it's ok to get engaged and married at 12, for example. All the more reason to be glad that WB exists.
Ha ha, thanks hive! Glad I'm not the only one who takes issue with Yahoo Answers! And yes, Ember78, I suspect you're right that a lot of the answers probably come from 14-year-olds...
I used to LOVE Yahoo Weddings answer board... until about two months ago when it got all... well, juvenile. At least there's weddingbee!

I was wasting time on Yahoo Answers and got seriously annoyed! We are doing some fun extras for our reception (photo station, candy buffet, etc.) so I was searching for questions along those lines. Every bride who asked about reception activities seemed to have a bunch of Negative Nancy responses chastening her because "This is not a child's birthday party, it is a wedding, young lady!"
Seriously? It's 2009 people. Granted, people may assume 'activities' means 'games', but still, are people really that shocked by new additions to weddings? Since it is online I assume Yahoo posters are a bit younger on average, not like Great Aunt Ethel posting all of those responses.
