My sweet wonderful SO is out of town with his law firm in a trial that’s supposed to last up to 3 weeks if they don’t settle :(. I know this is a good oppurtunity for him and he’ll get some great experience and a butt ton of overtime money…but I miss his big squishy face :(. I’m going to miss our snuggles and tickle fights and our Walking Dead game/tv nights and his INCREDIBLE dinners he cooks (I can’t cook worth a crap and he is phenomenal). So unless you want me to get fat off of takeout pizza and emo tears, give me ideas to keep me busy, bees!!

@Dizbee: I can’t give you any ideas, when my FI leaves, I just mope around the house and eat ice cream. *HUGS*

I go to the gym (every day actually) when my SO goes on business trips. My SO also hates broth-based foods, so I go out with my friends to ramen/soup noodle/congee places when he’s out.
I basically use it for me time and use the opportunity to do things that I know he hates but I love 🙂

FI is the first civillian relationship that I’ve ever had. I’ve always been with guys in the military (my dad was Navy so I’m really used to Military relationships).
Of course you’re going to miss FI! If you didn’t, I would say you shouldn’t be engaged to him LOL! Try taking up a new hobby! Try jewelry making, knitting, a zumba class (to keep you moving), a kickboxing class. Arrange a weekly girls night to give you something to look forward to.
What I always did for deployments was paper chains. I would make one of those paper chains we did in elementary school and make one link for each day that they were going to be gone. Every day, I’d rip one of the links since one more day was gone. It was great to be able to rip something, and to have a visual of how far we’d come and how long is left.
Three weeks will be up before you know it, honey!

I think I didn’t start to get really sad until now ecause this is usually the time he comes home and he’s not here :(. It’s also the time we usually go to the store and buy ingredients for whatever marvelous healthy and economic feast he’s going to make that night.
Now it’s up to me to fend for myself. And this is what happens everytime I try to cook: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/cook_home

I send sympathies — My husband deploys on Friday! We can be lonely together. I really don’t have much advice for you. I play video games and play with our pets when my husband is gone.

I buy a TON of wine and overload the DVR when FI is gone on business trips!
It helps a little.

He sent me specific instructions on how to make his special ramen (chicken, scallions, egg and a bunch of extras) and I still messed it up. But I had a good time just laughing with him and talking with him.
Sad whiny emo bee :(. Luckily Mr. Boo the kitty cat is here to keep me company.
