First, they are both beautiful! I especially like the updo. I think it's very classic and elegant.
Can you post a picture of your dress as well? What type of jewelry do you want to wear? All that will factor into the decision because both of those hairstyles are AMAZING!
Both are gorgeous! I prefer the updo, though. I also think it will probably stay intact and looking good longer.
I really like the updo. I especially love the back of it. And you look great without make-up!
I like the bridal_hair_7 the BEST. The half down/curly is cute, but it's lacking some oomph in my opinion. Even with hair clip ins, i'm just not feeling it. But i really really like the up one.
Ooooh, good point caszos. I don't have a picture of the dress! I know, who doesn't? But its a strapless, sweetheart neckline and its a trumpet dress. I also have super cute chandelier earrings, they're pretty sizeable. I'm not wearing a necklace.
The earrings are kinda like this:
And my dress is almost exactly like this only its a sweetheart neckline:
I really like the updo, especially if you are going to be wearing those chandelier earrings!
I think if you want your earings to make a statement you should do the "up do". However, since you aren't wearing a necklace and your dress is strapless then you may want to do the "down do" so that there is something on your shoulders. I think from the pictures it looks like your hair is still pulled back out of your face enough that you would still see your earings.
I had my hair up for our wedding and waited until the morning of the event to really decide. Anyway, I'm sooooooo glad that I had it up. I was able to wear my veil for the ceremony and then remove for reception and dance the night away without a single care about my hair. Never had to do a touch-up or spray anything, etc. It held up wonderfully and I got a ton of compliments. I just think there's something "special" about an up-do that makes you feel extra special dressed-up, if that makes sense. Your up-do picture is gorgeous!!
P.S. Love your dress & ear rings. You're going to be a beautiful bride!!!!!!
I really love the down do actually, but i know i'm in the minority! Also... I'm super jealous of your dimples!
Aw, thanks CorgiTales! What's funny is that I have always been so self conscious of them. I hate them growing up!
Ok, for 1. You look gorgeous without any make-up on! And 2. I'm with @CorgiTales... I love the half up half down!! But you look beautiful either way!
I really like the down look but in order to show off those earrings I think the updo is the way to go. They are both pretty though.
Picture No. 2 is my favorite! I love the spiral curls without the traditional veil!
I see your Eva Longoria pics! That's my hairstyle for the wedding. :) I did have her do more pieces down around the face, and it looks great.
Your hair looks really pretty down, too, though. But with those earrings, I think the updo.
@Jennifer: Where did you get your hair done? I ask because I seriously think we went to the same place ... the salon looks very familiar (I got married in Saratoga Springs).
I voted for down! You have lovely curls, and I'm a sucker for curls :)
Updo! it shows of your neck, shoulders, and earrings! I think updo makes you look more elegant, which matches the style of the dress.
I think the hair down is gorgeous and flowy and romantic!
P.S. You look beautiful without makeup on. :)
Hey date twin!! I have to go with the consesus and say the updo. I especially like the side picture of it. It looks soo interesting from the side. Either way you'll look beautiful!!!
you are SO pretty and either way you wear it, it will be gorgeous. But I think that with the simplicity of the dress and the fact that you have pretty brown hair, you should wear it down. Long hair represents youth, and think about how you'll feel 20 or 30 years from now looking at the photographs. You'll see a beautiful young bride. :)
You rock both styles!! I like the updo more because it's elegant but still has that soft romantic feeling with the soft tendrils in front. I think it depends what "look" you're going for. Either way, you look amazing!
Thanks so much for all your help, and the compliments- so sweet! I really appreciate the input!
@MissChapstick- It probably is the same place! Its called Make Me Fabulous, in Ballston Spa I believe. They're awesome! Is that the one?
I want Alayne of Make Me Fabulous so badly, but she's booked on my date :( You look GORGEOUS, and I prefer the updo - although it totally depends on the dress. I was always an updo girl, had it pictured in my mind, but when I got my dress (MS Vogue), it's very much a half-down-half-up dress. You'll be beautiful anyway you cut it :)
@jenifer: Yep! That's the one :) They're awesome. They were amazing on our wedding day.
I voted for down but I'll say that you will look gorgeous either way. I think your hair is just beautiful and you should show it off, but that's just me, I'm generally a hair down kind of person - I think you should go with whatever feels more you!
I LOVE the updo. I think it will look great with your dress and earrings.
I almost always side with the updo... but I just love the half up/half down look on you - you have such pretty hair! I think since your dress is on the plainer side (not crazy beading or anything), I would do the hair half down. If you're going with a really formal look, then maybe the updo will work better, but I still love the first one best!
Let us know what you decide!
I would say the updo it is more classic and romatic. Especially if you are wearing those chandelier earings they will hide behind the half up hair. Another thing to think about is the updo with the earrings will make your neck line longer and more graceful so you can seem a little bit taller.
i<3both on you!! and i am totally biased as i will be wearing my hair down!!
BUT, i think with the chandelier earrings, the up-do is better suited... either way you'll be stunning @jennifer! :)
Do you have the pictures you brought into her? I'd like to see :) I need to get a hair inspiration board going. I <3 <3 <3 your updo, but I really feel like my dress needs a down style. Bah.

I had a blast doing my hair and make-up trial on Wednesday. But I can't decide which hair style better suits me. They're both not done exactly how they will be on the wedding day (I ended up being crunched for time). The up do will be more polished, and there will be a few more pieces around my face. And the down do will be much fuller (I have hair clip ins). So, which do you think is best?
PS. I can't believe I just posted pictures of me without make-up, yuck.
