Make it special, don’t go home to dirty dishes and laundry and the remnants of pre-wedding chaos.  🙂

we live close to our venue but my dad offered to pay for our night there. i’m glad we stayed, you don’t want to get back to real life right after the wedding.

LIVE IT UP!  I wouldn’t go back home…I like @artbee’s comment and agree with her.

The hotel we are having our ceremony at is kind of expensive.  We will be leaving the reception(reception venue is at a different location) around 9pm and then we will have to be at the airport at 5:30am.  It seems like a waste of money to me when we could only spend a total of 8 hours there.  I would rather see my home right before I leave so I know everything is okay.  Plus that $170 can go a LONG way in Vegas!

Oh, so I say skip the hotel unless you really have your heart set on staying in a hotel for your wedding night.

Take a night away at the hotel for the two of you to be in your own world. Dont go back home you could go there any day!!!

Indulge! We are – and we’re only 15 minutes from our venue. It’s going to be bliss to come into a clean hotel suite, throw everything to the side and not deal with messes at our house until the next afternoon.

I agree. You can focus on each other instead of being distracted by the mundane.

We spent nearly $200 on a suite (at a Hilton, no less) for our wedding night. The mattress was hard as a rock, the hot tub didn’t fit both of us, and the perks they said we’d have (champagne and fresh fruit) were no where to be seen.

I wish we’d saved our money! Camping would have been better.

We went home and had friends come over to watch a hockey game!  We enjoyed some more friend time (and unfortunately, a horrible game for our team!) and then opened presents and talked about our wedding all night.  We left the next day for our honeymoon and it all worked out well!

Im going against the grain here and saying go home. Money is money…WE got the hotel and I kind of regretted it…we spend 180.00 for 8 hours tech. We got in at three and were gone by 11:00…its just sheets, its just a bed…but 170.00 can get you that extra nice room on your honeymoon!! 🙂

If it were my FH and I, I know we would go home.  We would much rather spend the night in our own bed than in a hotel, if it were an option.

But if staying in the hotel would make it more special and celebratory for you, go for it!

We went home – it was so nice to just be able to relax in our own home. And we saved the money to go toward the honeymoon!

I say go home, you’ll be too exhausted to notice where you’re sleeping anyway and you can spend the money elsewhere!
