Please take a look and let me know what you think. We are getting married on our 11th year anniversary so I hope the words are still “fresh” enough.
David, I remember when we were just starting to date as teenagers and I just loved talking to you and sharing in great conversation every single day. I remember staying up all hours of the night hiding in my closet with my cell phone. I remember we talked for so long that sometimes I fell asleep in there. I could never have guessed that those experiences would be the beginning of our journey together.
I knew that you were the person I would marry when I could not picture a life without my best friend in it. I admire your emotional strength, your compassion and kindness and above all your capacity to see the goodness in people.
What makes a successful marriage in my opinion is the presence of love, passion, unity, trust, respect and friendship. And from this, I promise to give you my utmost commitment, love and support. I promise to give you the best of myself; to respect you; to share with you; and to grow with you. I look forward to growing stronger together, starting a family with you, and finally, finally getting a dishwasher.
You are my destination. When I am with you, I feel like there is nothing else I have to do and nowhere else I’d rather be. So here I stand today, David, and I promise to love you in good times and in bad – completely and forever, with all of me.
