I have no idea if it's bad luck for me to be playing with it a couple weeks early...but we picked it up yesterday and I can't wait to be wearing it everyday!  The lighting's a bit off, but it's white gold.  They jeweler said it was harder than he thought to mold it, but we both love the finished product.  Jewelry is *not* FI's thing, but he keeps saying how happy he is with it also.

BTW, for you Bay Area folks, Ronald at TC Jewelers on Union Street (i've heard the othr branches aren't as good) is excellent!  He's got some beautiful stuff in his shop...and he did this for us :)

That's very pretty! Are those rubies?

I was thinking about getting a ruby or two inset into my wedding band but I wound up going with something much more basic.Yours is great!

Yes, those are rubies.  I didn't want an engagement ring (he got me a saphire solitaire pendant and solitaire earrings instead), so having a fancier band made sense.  We debated sapphire or ruby, but the jeweler said he thought ruby would look better (small sapphires just look dark he said).  I said I prefer the pinker rubies (which are a bit lower priced I think), and he found the cabachon cut ruby for the center to match the small ones that are inset in the band.

The design was from an estate piece I found at another jeweler.  That piece was way too big for me and also not well-made.  But I got a photo of it.  It was our jeweler's idea to add the stones in the band though (the one I saw only had a center stone).  I'm really happy with the final product...it looks way better than the photos I showed him :)

gorgeous! I love that color (pink but not ) :D I need to get a new wedding band, mine didn't fit me and we ordered it too late to get it returned/fixed.. more than a month later, it hangs on my neck as a necklace instead :-/

Oh my! That is one beautiful and unique ring!  I can see that it would've taken an excellent craftmanship.  Great work!  and Congrats!  How're you doing with the wedding approching so soon?

Thanks so much everyone.  I'm totally in love with it :)

But I'm worried that it might be too big :(  Sometimes I struggle to get it over my knuckle, and sometimes it just slips off.  I'm wondering if my fingers were extra swollen the day we ordered it b/c it was super hot.  The only way to size it would mean ruining some of the work in the back.  I know the jeweler will do it (said he'll size it whenever I need), but I'm hoping that my fingers are just extra thin right now due to pre-wedding stress.  And maybe I ought to stop trying it on pre-wedding :)

Fi's a little worried I'm going to leave it on a beach somewhere in Greece, though...

Have you looked into sizing it from inside?  I've seen a few friends who put a little "darts(?)" and or a flat piece of metal inside the ring to make it fit a little snug.  They didn't want to (or it was difficult to) resize the ring, and the jewerler was able to do this...one actually had a very similar experience as you and she decided that if her fingers are going to fluctuate, then it may be best not to resize it.  She's the one who put I think 4 little darts inside the ring.

Thanks for the info...that might definitely be an option.  We're probably going to have him reset my engagement jewelry (sapphire solitaire pendant and earrings) after the honeymoon...so we can ask him about those options as well.
