So I put a deposit down on my wedding band today. It is NOT the band that is supposed to match my ring, nor is it a channel set band which is what typically should go with my ring. I didn’t want that at all. I also chose round diamonds even tho my E-ring is princess cut bc a band of Princess cut diamonds will have the prongs sitting on the outside is such a noticeable way and creates a gap between the rings. I love the round and no one will even really tell the difference unless they’re actually examining the rings on my hand!
Also I know the band is supposed to be worn on the inside, but my e-ring is snug on my knuckle so instead of taking it on and off a hundred times, I just tried the bands on on top.
So this ring is canadian diamonds, which almost never go on sale, and it was regular $1200 and on sale for $899 so I couldn’t pass that up!
What do you think? If you don’t like it, that’s ok. Be honest! I can still get my $ back and have to take my FI to show him still

Would you really take it back if ppl said they didn’t like it?! Who cares? You like it, you got a great deal, and its beautiful!

@MrsPhilly: that looks great! i love the slight mismatch!! and yay canadian diamonds 🙂

I wouldn’t take it back bc bees don’t like it… but I made sure I have the option of returning it if FI doesn’t like it. He’s seen photos and says he does, but I want him to see it in person. I wasn’t planning to buy it so early, I still have 18 months, but it was on a great sale!!!
I’m indecisive about stuff, but really don’t think I’ll change my mind about this

My FI says $899 is a lot for a ring… but that as I’m the main wedding planner it’s my call… Now I’m feeling guilty. Is it too much? He has always told me I’ll only ever get two rings from him, my engagement and my wedding ring.
We have not the biggest of budgets, around $15K total and he’s finishing school this year and i’ll be in school next year so we absolutely can’t afford to go crazy… I am thinking maybe I’ll pay the monthly payments with my own income rather than money from our wedding account…
But help me, Bees… am I being selfish?? I didn’t think $899 was crazy expensive. it seemed fairly average if not on the low side… Those skinny bands are gorgeous and if it suited my ring I’d be totally happy with one but my ring is too fat for one of those.
Do I return it and wait and hunt? Or consider it a score at the sale price?

@MrsPhilly: I think you got a good sale! Most of the ladies I know with wedding bands are around that price (800-1200) and my friend who has a $600 diamond band, we thought it was a phenomenal price.

My better sense tells me I shouldn’t say this – but ……
Noooo – do not return it! If there are only going to be 2 rings – ever- that $899 divided by 50 years of loving equals $18.00 a year – it’s a bargain

I love it. It’s gorgeous!

So I just found what I’m pretty sure is the exact same ring only moissanite on the moissaniteco website for $560… should I get my money back and order the moissanite one instead??? I’ve never seen moissanite in real life, but from what i see here and on the website it’s pretty similar to a diamond..
but will it be noticeable there’s a difference when I have my diamond e-ring side by side with a moissy band? I have no idea? What would you do?

I think that is a deal! it sparkles and actually compliments your e ring:) Its a Keeper!

I’d keep it, at least you’d be able to wear it alone. It doesn’t need to match your e-ring.
