I would not have the patients for that lol! congrats on finishing!
they're cute!
1 year for a cake topper?! Wowsers!! I could have foregone this route long ago! Congrats on your dedication and final completion!! Looks good!
Wow! That is so realistic! What material did you use?
Thank you all :)
@ jordynrose: I used clay that gets hard when baked ("Super Sculpey Living Doll"). I painted it with acrylic paint and covered it with "satin glaze".
Wow, I am impressed! Kudos to you for your dedication- it definitely paid off! :) :)
How tall are they?
thats amazing how you made those!!! and the patience too!! wow is all I can say!!
Thanks again. I'm so happy you like it and I hope our guests will go crazy about it, when they see the cake :))). I'd really like to have an individual wedding and in the end it is worth the work :)
@ noodlefish: The cake topper is about 8 inches tall.
Amazing job, such great detail. For example, the brides arms are great. You could make a business of it! Congrats!
Those are SO COOL! I am so impressed that you made them yourself. If you have kids in the future, they will get a kick out of those!
That looks great! One question though: Why are the cheeks so big on the girl?
But all in all, it looks professionally done! I would NOT be able to do that on my own!!
Thanks for all the comments :)
@ Lee4308: Yeah, I know the cheeks are really big, I'm not a professional sculptor and this was actually my first try!
In the end they might have gotten too big, but I do have high cheekbones, and they're really eye-catching when laughing, so it's not that bad and people will recognize it's me :) (... and not the other girl in the same dress on my wedding - haha! ;) )
@Miss: That was an AWESOME first try!! :) I just didn't know if that happened to be one thing that your FI had fallen in love with you, or something along those lines :) I do love it though! Def. way better than I could have EVER tried to do!
LOVE it! So unique!! You should start a business after your wedding doing these!
Thanks a lot!
@powder_angel : After all that work I definetly know I won't start a business and make them. BTW: This is the site where I got my inspiration from:

It's so cool, that the professional creator put photos of the couple next to the pics of the cake topper. They look sooo much like the people!
W-O-W
Very cool! I'm frustrated that my toppers aren't done after a week... lol! Kudos for sticking it out! They are clearly well worth the effort - they look GREAT!
Thank you again! :)
@jjwedding I used "Super Sculpey Linving Doll" - modeling clay, that gets hard when baked.

Hey ladies,
I just finished my wedding cake topper. This was actually the first DIY-project in my wedding planning. I startet creating it almost a year ago and it feels good havin something finished 3 months before the wedding (OMG!!).
Here are the mini-me's from different perspectives, before and after putting the birdcage on and glueing them to a mirror :).
What do you think?
