- Wedding: September 2012
My wedding day, September 22, started as a cloudy foggy day, as my sister, niece, “Sophie” and I headed to the salon for hair and makeup. A mere 2 and a half hours later, the sun was shining, it was warm and beautiful as we were about to head out to start the celebration.
Our celebration was attended by 102 of our nearest and dearest, and the sight of all of them sitting in the pews waiting for ME to arrive was overwhelming, and I had my OMG moment as Dad and I waited for the first chords of Here Comes the Bride.
The ceremony by Pastor Patrick and Pastor Gene was beyond beautiful, everyone said so!!!! Afterwards, we greeted our guests and walked back to the National to start our party!
Our party was very laid back and non-traditional when it comes to receptions. People were told it was informal/casual attire, and we had everything from “nice jeans/resort wear” to people dressed to the nines!!!!! No toasts, no cake cutting/no “cake”, just a small one with a bride/groom for Daddy, no garter toss, no big entrance, no DJ/Band/Dancing (just one dance) ; my wonderful Harry said a brief welcome/thank you to our guests, and there was only one dance, with my Daddy, to Daddy’s Little Girl (his little girl is 54 an post-meno…). The National did a AWESOME job with the food and drink, we had Dennis and Sue provide the music (all of our favorites from the 60’s an 70’s) and everyone had a great time!!!!!
The day turned out just as we imagined! It was a great day for those who knew each other to catch up, and for those who didn’t to meet some wonderful new friends.
Get ready for a lot of pictures!!!! (sorry about the weird order, used the multi-upload option, but it gets the point across!!!!)
My precious niece Allie was the caretaker of our special guest, “Sophie”
