How should I do my hair, and should I have a veil? The crown on my head is a real crown, not a tiara. I love it 🙂 So I’m not sure about a veil, because I don’t want to cover up the crown. Tell me what to do!

aoppenhuizen: Well I’m no help because I don’t know about crowns and veils, but that dress is STUNNING!!

Okay, I know you love the crown and I’m about to tell you something you probably don’t want to hear, but I really think the crown is too bulky. It doesn’t do you justice in this dress. It looks like a costume crown.
And FWIW, I’m normally pro-tiaras/crowns. I just don’t think this one is flattering. I’m sorry 🙁 I think you may end up looking a little dated… like maybe Princess Diana with the short blonde hair and large crown.
(I’m seriously not trying to be mean. Just honest.)

i love the dress. i think the crown looks ridiculous. its too big and bulky and you are i think too mature to wear that type. it is more suited for a sweet 16.

The dress is absolutely stunning! The crown makes me think of a Halloween costume…but if you love it, that’s what matters! I wouldn’t do a veil if you choose to wear the crown.

The dress is absolutely gorgeous! I hate to say it but I agree with PP. I really don’t like the crown. It looks like you are playing dress up. I think you could do a sparkly comb in your hair or something to still get that bling though.

The dress is beautiful, but unless you’re a royal, I’d 86 the crown. Veil or flower?

Pretty dress! But the crown doesn’t look good at all. I agree that it’s more suited for Halloween or a sweet 16. If you really want to wear it I’d tone it down to a tiara to make it look less costume like.

Hugs – im sorry youre getting a little beat up about your crown, especially since you werent even asking about opinions on it in the first place but to answer your question I think crowns look nice with a veil and if you have the veil pinned behind the front of the crown it wont cover it all – Kate Middleton style! You can always take it off after the ceremony but I say add a veil. BTW I think your crown matches the crystals on your dress and looks really pretty so I hope these posts dont make you doubt yourself.

Sorry but that crown looks like something out of a kid’s dressing up set! You look stunning in that beautiful dress but the crown spoils the whole look and I think some sort of sparkly comb would look way better.
IMO the only people wearing crowns should be either under 5 or actual royalty.

I’m personally not a fan of brides wearing any sort of crown or tiara, but what matters is that you’re happy with it. If your hair will be a little longer then, I’d suggest some sort of simple updo so that the focus can be on the beautiful beading at the top of your dress. I’m not really sure if I can picture what a veil would look like with the crown, so I don’t have any suggestions as far as that.

aoppenhuizen:

Wow you look absolutely beautiful! Keep the crown. try your hair with very soft small wave/curls at the bottom with your thinnest curling iron.
A beautiful shiny bracelet would look nice to since you have the beautiful embellishments from your straps so a big necklace might look a bit too much!

If u love the crown wear it!! But I vote yest to a simple veil. Ur a bride, you need a veil!!!

Beautiful dress! Wow your body looks amazing in it. I think that the dress combined with the crown looks too much like a costume though…like the crown cheapens the look of the embellishments on the dress. I think a fingertip length simple veil would look gorgeous with that dress. Sorry I know you like the crown but it just isnt working with the mature dress you have on. And I would pull your hair into a classy bun style since you have straps that are so beautiful on their own. A sleek bun with maybe some swoop in front.
