My wedding dress will sit in a car for a week in a half. Is it going to damage?

@sara5ann:  you should change at the reception and have someone take It home for you. Idk if it will ruin, but I’d hate to leave something like that in my car for a week.

@sara5ann:  A trip back to your house (either by you or a friend/family member) is probably necessary, if not to drop off your dress, but to put your cards/gifts there as well. It’s not a good idea to leave all that stuff in the car.

@sara5ann:  Well type of fabric is your dress? What are you wanting to do with your dress after your wedding? box it up? sell it?

@sara5ann:  I would put it in a garment bag, and maybe lay it flat in the trunk, so that no one can see it hanging there.

It seems you don’t have a choice on where to put it. It will mostly likely be fine I think. April isn’t too incredibly hot here in Florida.

Is it too late to change your flight/accommodations so you can go home first?

And I agree with a PP that it’s not a good idea to leave all your stuff in the car. Maybe rent a storage locker? You can get temp/humidity controlled ones, I believe.

@sara5ann:  Could you drop it somewhere to have it cleaned while you are away?

@sara5ann: @haker4:   I like the idea of dropping it off for cleaning too!

Another idea, which would also work if you have gifts to deal with too, would be to rent a short-term, climate controlled storage unit.

@sara5ann:  why not get it cleaned and preserved while you’re gone. The dress is safe, out of the heat and should be in perfect condition when you come back!
