This definitely wasn't what I was expecting when I saw this post! I think it's an awesome idea! We're planning on doing the same to help fund a project we want to do with our house...have a yard sale and get rid of a lot of stuff we just don't use anymore, and use whatever we make towards our new bathroom! I know it won't be a ton of money, but every little bit helps!
We're having one afterwards ... I can't wait to clean out a lot of my old crapola stuff to make room for new registry items in the house. Garage sale proceeds will go towards the hineymoon fund and/or completing the registries.
That wasnt what I expected when I saw the title either :) Good for you for being proactive about figuring out ways to come up with money for your wedding!

I'm super excited - FI & I are going to have a wedding garage sale to help pay for the wedding! It'll be a great way for our families to collaborate on something before the wedding, get some stuff outta their closets, and to increase the wedding budget.
