@sparklerunner:  Oh my goodness!  I’m so sorry to hear that.  I have not heard of this before, but I really hope it heals quickly for you.

I’ve also had week from hell, complete with a $2400+ emergency surgery for my dog, and a trip to the doctor for me too.

3 days….let’s hope everything settles down for us SOON!

I’m so sorry! Most important thing is to stay calm and try not to stress. Can you try icing it or something?

If all else fails, walk down that aisle with confidance like the beautiful bride I know you’ll be. Photoshop was invented for this very reason 😉

Oh no!!!   I would call the photographer and let them know which eye it is so they can minimize shots from that side, and they are prepared that there maybe some touchups after.

I had a huge breakout of rosecea the week of my wedding, yeah sunburn! My pro picks look great with the touchups, the regular pics I wish people would just burn.  But what are you gonna do. It’s not like you did it on purpose to yourself.

@sparklerunner:  I would ask your doctor if it’s safe to put ice on it.  Ice doesn’t just numb things; it helps them heal.  The cold constricts the blood vessels, triggering the body to force more blood to the area to warm it.  White blood cells then do their work healing the wound.  But, it’s an eye, not a muscle, so I would check that it won’t be harmful to your eye since your vision is MUCH more important than your wedding, if we keep things in perspective… (see what I did there?  vision… perspective… I’m hilariious)

I really hope it goes down, but even if it doesn’t, you will still be beautiful, and you will still be married!  Plus your phtographer should be able to clean it up in the photos.

@sparklerunner:  …you know, I’ve actually had this happen….but I’m also a contact wearer and can get a little careless taking them out…he always gives me some steroid/antibiotic drops, I chill out, do those and use cool compresses and I’m awesome in 48 hours!

I had a similar condition after I got LASIK and it went away in a couple days. Good luck!

@sparklerunner:  It sounds like the concensus is “relax, it’s a 2-day thing, and you have 3.”

I am not a dr (far from it), but Injust wanted to say that you should be sure to not take any blood thinners or asprin (since it thins your blood)- they can make brusing worse. I know it’s sometimes recommended to put vitamin K on bruises (like rub it in)- maybe take some? It can’t hurt!

So sorry about your crap week, ladies! Sucks to have extra stress piled on you when you have other areas that you want to focus on.

@sparklerunner:  I agree with the PP and asking your eye doctor if ice would help. That, and not lifting anything too heavy – the pressure it puts on you can sometimes make things like that worse. Kind of like post-surgery. Definitely let your photographer know, they will be able to stage photographs so that the affected side won’t show as much.

@SophieB3:  So sorry about your pup! I hope for a speedy recovery!

All things aside, enjoy your wedding day!!

That sucks!

Don’t wear contacts (if you wear them). Cool compresses. Don’t rub your eyes. Try to relax and not panic!

Do what you can – and what other bees recommend. But if it’s still red on wedding day, then, just got for it. You’ll still be beautiful! And that’s why they made photoshop!
