My wedding is in a day and a month and my period started today. I am going to the Bahamas for my honeymoon and I do not want to be on my period during either. What can I do to change the dates by at least a week or 2? I am on pills but I didnt take them all last month. Any suggestions???

EDIT: Sorry re-read your post, I’d talk to your doctor about starting on the pills again. You can double up your packs too to skip your period–if it’s not too late though since you are having to restart them.

Yay for 9/12/09 weddings in the Bay Area!!
If you don’t want to go back on the pill, I don’t know that there is anything you can do. I would recommend going back on the pill this Sunday, and “skipping” your next period by doing two packs back to back. However, you might want to check with your Dr. about how going on and off and on again might affect you.

According to my doc you have a chance on still bleeding (sorry) if you take the pills back to back. She suggested to me to stop the pills a week earlier than usual to bring my period sooner then I should be scott free for the wedding. But like the other ladies suggested, speak with your doc first.

I do the opposite as hcritton mentioned because I don’t like skipping my period so I make mine come earlier!
I would start taking your pills as normal after this period and then I would stop taking your pills (no matter where you are in your pack) ~10 days before your wedding that way you will be off the pill for 7 days will get your period right before your wedding and you will start taking them again 3 days prior to the wedding and will be good to go for your wedding and honeymoon!
I hope this helps – I have had friends do the other method as well but some did get spotting doing that method! I have done this method for years and it really works well for me!

Hah. I’m on the same schedule as you, FutureBride09. I will totally commiserate with you! However I’m just going to deal with it and be paranoid in my white dress. Just thought I’d let you know that you’re not the only one.
