Hi So I'm going by myself!  These are few pics - tell me what you think I can improve on or change or is ok etc...  My dress is very romantic and my hair will be pinned up with curls at the back and a sweeping fringe.

Pic 1 - this is me sans makeup.  available for hire on halloween at reasonable rates...

A couple of things.  Although it doesn't look it the amount of makeup I am wearing is imense!  What should be my priority?  Should I not mind looking like a clown, because my pics will look ace, or tone it down a notch so people don't point an laugh on the day, but then my pics won't be so great?

Tips would be appreciated on tones, application, spot covering etc!

I like makeup A the best, but it's something about that lip color. Maybe a less pink color? Or a darker shade? Otherwise, it's beautiful! And hey! You look beautiful without makeup! If only I could say the same haha

I'll try a different colour this evening.  I'll do a dark and a lighter to see what's the craic.  I want to use lipfinity because the staying power is second to none, so it may mean I will just have to shop for more.... oh shoot what a shame! Wink

I like the makeup in A as well. I like the lashes, they are very natural looking... long enough that they give you a doe-eyed look and are noticible but not like super drama lashes. What kind of look were you going for?

Well my dress is Juno, by Augusta Jones, so it's a very romantic dress.  I just wanted something quite classic, timeless and natural looking, that would just emphasise my features.  I don't want to go too dramatic, as I want to look back in 20 years and be able to think it was yesteday.

Skin looks great, blush and lips very pretty, I'd just amp up the eyes a little.

I am in agreeance with what most of the other bees are saying. I love the eyes but you need a bit darker/more inliner on your top lash I would also suggest fuller fake lashes or dark mascara on top of the fales. I would also put color and a light gloss on your lips (are you wearing anything here?) also a touch more bronzer and blush (again are you wearing any?). But for the eyeshadow I would not touch that at all it is just want you are looking for (first makeup picture).

Your foundation is either too pink, or your undertones are pink and your foundation isn't neutralizing it correctly.

That would be my first fix.  Your skin should look like skin (not caked on makeup) but at the same time..you want it to be glowing, even toned etc.

You are beautiful by the way.

@jymmsc:  I'm wearing a pink lipstick in the picture, but I think I will change it for something a bit less sugar,  I will take over the local department store until I find it!  I know exactly what you mean about the bronzer/blushers.  In the cold light of day I feel I am wearing way too much and can't understand why as soon as the photo is taken I look blank.

@andilovesjosh:  I have quite pink undertones, and I think it's the blushers and lip colour I use which are emphasising that effect.  Would you suggest I go for a more coraly tones on cheeks and lips to counteract that?

@jymmsc:  I've been looking at pictures of Adele, and I love her colours and eyes, and I think I'm going to have a go at that as well and see how I look.

Does anybody know of any fixing tricks so that I don't have to worry about panda eyes?

@Cariad:  Your dress is beautiful! I agree with PP's, more blush, darker lashes, and gloss on the lips. :)

I am not by any means a make-up artist, just love make-up.

Def. pic A.  Pic B looks to "everyday"

Priority one: different lip color.  maybe look for more of a rose tone.

Priority two: more matte foundation on T zone.

Priority three: Hmm.  I think you did a fab job on your eye make-up.  Maybe just a bit more, or darker, eyeshadow on zone 2 - the part under your eyebrow, excluding the highlight area.

I'm not sure what you mean by panda eyes.  Do you mean your lower liner smudging?  Make sure the skin isn't oily under, try a slightly sharper/thinner line in anticipation of it blending itself, or buy waterproof liquid liner.  Some people love using an eyeliner brush, wetting it and using eyeshadow.  I like doing that in general practice, but notice some of the shadow ends up falling down by the end of day.  Not sure how that would be for wedding make-up

You can also try a eyebrown liner.  I have mixed results, but it's something they always seem to use on makeover shows.

I think wedding make-up is more similar to theater or pagent make-up than everyday make-up.  Would look ridiculous wearing to work, but looks good in photos and doesn't disappear from afar.

Pic 1 - my first DIY attempt

Pic 2 - I fell asleep on the couch, so this is what it looked like 7-8 hours after I put it on, though I didn't do any dancing either.  And I fell asleep with my contacts in, so my eyes are very red.

My number 1 priority needs to be a tooth whitening kit!
