After LOTS of heartache and debate, here is my wedding set! This was the only wedding band I could find that seemed to compliment the marquise-cut diamond, gave its prongs some space so they wouldn’t get so scratched and bent, and still looked good all by itself (not too curvy.)
The marquise cut can be hard to fit a band for, so this is what I went with. What do you think? I’d love to hear your opinion. 🙂
Unless it’s the opinion I heard behind my back from the owner of a jewelry store that was resizing my engagaement ring – “Nobody wants a marquise anymore.” 😛

good choice, they look really nice together! will you flip around your wedding band after you get married?

Honestly, I was never a fan of that cut…..but I love your ring! It is beautiful! For the band I must say, ummm yea love love love, but I may be biased bc I have that exact band in white gold to go with my solitare ring too! Yes, are you going to flip it around? I think it would look even better if that rock had the spotlight first! 😉

I was also never a fan of that cut, OR curved bands, but I think your set looks great! And I’m *really* picky. I think I like that even though it’s curved, it still gives a gap (which I LOVE). Is that yellow gold? It looks deliciously golden in that light, whatever it is! 😛

Love the gap! It looks great!

@MissGreen and littlemissmango – Yup, it’s yellow gold and honestly, I had never seen such a cut in my life! And I might have preferred another one too, but neither me nor my husband had a say in what the ring looked like since it was an heirloom.
But, I’m glad that picky discriminating gals like you like it anyhow – I guess it looks alright then. 🙂

Gorgeous and I am not a marquise stone fan! You have turned it around for me!

It’s not a cut that I would of asked for but I think it’s really nice! I think the set is perfect together. Ignore the jeweler, some of them can be really rude!

@rachelrobin – You know, I didn’t think about it at all until you mentioned it. So, today I’m doing an experiment and wearing them the other way around to see if i like it that way better!
@jennifer – I wouldn’t have asked for it either, so I spent a lot of time buying other bands and asking people and visiting jewelers to try to make the best of such a unique diamond shape!
