When my sister and I were younger, my parents gave us a ventriloquist dummy for Christmas thinking we would like it but it scared the crap out of us. Eventually we just put it in the basement with the computer and my mother's speech pathology room. In high school, I would go downstairs to type my papers and it would freak me out staring at me. So I would put it in my mother's work room. The next day, it would be back. I was convinced it was getting up and walking back out every night. Turns out that it scared the kids my mom worked with so she would put it back out by the computer. My dad thought it was the funniest thing that everyone was so afraid of it. So he started hiding it on us. For fifteen years, we have had an ongoing tradition of hiding the doll in creative ways. Sending it on vacation with people. Having it show up at work. Putting it in each other's cars.
I knew it would be somewhere at the wedding, but I sort of forgot about it in the weeks leading up to it. I guess my dad remembered, because after we were "pronounced husband and wife" we turned around and it was sitting on my dad's lap waving at us. The worst part is that the people in the back of the church couldn't see it so they thought my look of horror was because I just realized I was married.

Cake Boss (Buddy) made our cake. Carlo's is the preferred vendor for our venue. But a friend from work made the Mets/Mouse cake.

@jocelyn- The hair down comment. Is she talking about the picture with the girl dancing in the silverish dress. It is comment number 12 with the two pictures. Maybe??
