I hope that one day, soon i can post my weight loss story here too! :) congrats
That's amazing! congratulations!
That is AMAZING!!! I have been there too and no what an accomplishment this is!!
WAY TO GO AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
Wow! Great job!! I can relate to your story and I'm glad you posted this to give me some inspiration!
Thanks bees....I love the support...it helps. And keep it up to everyone who is still working torwards their weight loss goals!
Wow! You look so much younger in the 2nd picture!! Keep it up! :)
AMAZING!!!! You look fabulous!!! Keep up the good work. By the way, your daughter is adorable :)
Wow!!!
Congratulations on what you have accomplished, so far :-)
You should continue to be very proud of yourself :-)
I am also doing a restart. I gained almost 15lbs after we were married just because I was back to eating bad things. You have inspired me with your story to move forward even more than I already have. I started a workout program and also started tracking my food about 3 weeks ago and have only lost 3lbs. You have made me want to work harder to get to where I want to be.
I look forward to some updates on you. I am cofident that you will accomplish your goal, even sooner than you think :-)
Also, your little girl is so adorable and I am sure that when she is older and you share your story with her she will embrace you and be so very proud of her mommy :-)
@noritake22:Thanks!! It is a struggle everyday. I know how aggrivating it is to be eating right/working out and to only loose a few lbs....but at least you are losing!! Good luck to you and thanks for the kind words
I am looking to re-start a re-start. ;) I weighed at least 210lbs at one point in my life. I lost it all once I was off medications. I also became a lot more active. I eventually got down to 125lbs. I felt amazing. I strutted my stuff like you wouldn't believe. I guess I became too damn comfortable and gained a lot back. Thankfully it's not all. FI and I began to go back to the gym and watch what we were eating. Of course, we failed and fell right back to where we are. It took me crying the other day to realize that I can't stand the way I look anymore. I've lost all confidence. So, tomorrow is a new day and a new journey! I wish you the best of luck and hopefully we can make it!
WAY TO GO! I started a weight loss journey last year, but I have been on a break for several months as well and want to get back with it. I am restarting my journey this week too - we can do it! Are you counting calories? What kind of workouts are you doing? I am using myfitnesspal.com (since it's free!) to track calories, but I don't really know what I'm doing as far as exercise goes. Keep posting about your progress and we can all help each other! You look great!
You look fabulous and I know you'll look stunning in your photos! Good luck with your weightloss journey from a fellow dieter/workout buddy!
Great work, and you can keep it up! Just remember slow and steady wins the race.
When you lose the weight slowly, it's easier to adjust your self image as you go and feel as good about the weight loss as you look.
I didn't lose as much as you did, but I lost my extra weight over almost 2 years! It was the only way that I could keep it up.
I know what you mean about the good comments making you stop trying. At my wedding there were people I hadn't seen in 2 or 5 years. The ones who saw me at my heaviest kept saying "you look so THIIIIIIN" and actually I felt kind of awkward about it. It made me happy in part, but also made me self conscious again.
Now, with my hubby, we are getting in shape together. I'm finally at my goal weight, but I have lost a lot of my endurance (and he's now ready to lose weight).
You can do it! You're off to a great start.
You look amazing!! I've fallen off the wagon and stopped logging my calories like I was doing for so long. You are totally inspiring! Good luck!
you look great! congrats!! i'm also in the process of a restart. i lost 20 lbs before my wedding last september, and then gained back about 18 lbs of that over the holidays and the first part of the year. i re-started in late april and have lost about 9 lbs so far and still going. good luck on everything, you're definitely an inspiration!
You look great and are doing it the healthy way and for the right reasons and that is awesome!
@thetraceface: To answer your questions...I DO count calories...Right now I am trying to stay between 1400-1500 calories. As for workouts I generally do 15 minutes on weight machines (one day I will do arms, the next day I will do legs, ect). Then I do about 1hr-1hr 15mins of cardio. Generally I do 45 mins on the recumbent bike at level 12 on the 'hills' setting (freaking hard!) and then I will do 30 mins on the elipitical on level 11 (I know all machines are different so if you go to a gym the ones there may be different). Sometimes I will mix in 5 minutes on the rowing machine and I wll just go as fast as I can for the 5 mins...it totally kicks my butt! Oh...then I will do maybe 10 minutes of crunches. I would love to say I get there 5 days a week but I am still find myself making excuses some days not to go so I have only been going on average 3-4 times a week for the past few months....but that is better than nothing!
To everyone else...Thanks for the love
I found another before pic that I took when I first started losing weight....I took it to use as the 'before' pic....ugh it is sooo bad...how miserable do I look!?
And here I am now...mid-way to my goal (excuse nerdy braids..someone in their mid-thirties should not be wearing them...haha)

Hi Bees...I started posting a couple weeks ago because I needed to (re)kick-start my weight loss. I have been sorting through pictures on my computer when I came across some of my 'before' pics from a couple years ago. It made me realize one of the suprising reasons I wanted to lose weight in the first place. Back in May 2009 I weighed 235 (5'6") and had low self esteem. I was a new mom yet I had almost no pictures of me with my beautiful baby girl. Each time we were at a gathering I would be the one handing my daughter to others (my mom, my sister, friends) and taking the pics. Here is a rare pic of my daughter and I @ 235 lbs:
That was May 9, 2009 (ignore photo stamp date...I was too lazy back then to even set the date...check the big belly for the actual date on the shirt :)
I began cutting calories down to aprox 1500 and working out 5 days a week. Over the next 9-10 months I had lost around 50lbs.
This pic was taken Feb 2010...I was around180lbs.
As more and more people began to notice/compliment me on my weight loss..The more I eased up on my workouts and I slowly began 'cheating' on my diet. Fast forward to today...I am at 191 (down a few pounds since my re-start). I feel like I am back on track and headed to my ultimate goal of 140 lbs. I am hoping to make it there before our wedding next year . I am looking forward to the photographer taking beautiful pictures of my little girl and I
Thanks again for the support and kind word Bees!!
