Long post warning, but it’s seriously like a soap opera, so get ready:

This has just been the most stressful 18 hours ever. This supposedly ‘reputable seamstress’ was trying to make me lie for her to a bridal salon so that she could get a discounted dress and fix her mistake of completely ruining mine. After not sleeping last night I knew this morning that I just had to tell the truth. I was going to go into the salon today and just be honest with them about this lady butchering my dress and hope that they would help me in some way. And, thank god, they did!! Here’s the rundown:
I get to the bridal salon early (she’s supposed to meet us there with my butchered dress) and basically just tell them exactly what happened before she can show up. I just wanted to be upfront and honest with them about this whole thing. They seemed to know that she had ruined a dress anyway and were completely supportive of me and said it will be taken care of. So, the seamstress walks in (she does have the dress thank god) and we get it worked out and we all stand there as they confirm the specs on my dress – size, color, rush order, etc. Then we’re going to put my butchered dress back into the bag and the seamstress is trying to take the dress from me!! I said, “No, I’m keeping this dress.” She left it at that for the time being…
Anyway we leave together, but I knew I wanted to go back in and thank these wonderful people on my own without her there, so I walk back inside with my friend and the seamstress seams to be leaving. I just start thanking them and expressing my gratitude – and she walks back in and says, “My husband says I should keep the dress until I get the new one.” …MY EYEBALLS ALMOST POPPED OUT OF MY HEAD. I was like no, I paid for this. And the people behind the counter, bless their hearts, supported me and told her that I should keep the dress – it’s mine. So, she leaves.
At that point I just wanted to be sure the salon would call ME instead of HER (I think she did have to pay something for the dress) when the new one comes in. And they reassured me that I would be the one getting the phone call when the dress came in and I wouldn’t have to deal with this lady anymore. The salon was amazing and I have no reason to believe that they wouldn’t give it directly to me, I just am so anxious to have that new dress in my posession!
There really are good people in this world! haha So, my nerves have calmed for now and am just trying to take this one step at a time. The dress is ordered and I’ve already written the salon a thank you card that I need to send them asap.
