@Becs:  Awesome! I go your add on MFP! 46 lbs thats great! How long has it taken you? What has helped you the most? Im down 13 lbs since March 5th and 22 lbs total since my heaviest weight!!

@soontobehisbride:  Thanks! Congrats on your loss so far! It’s been 7 1/2 months now.  It’s worth noting that my first 30 lbs were probably 90% diet, little actual exercise (although as a city girl I do walk at least a couple of miles a day), while 2 or 3 months now (and the last 15+ lbs) have included pretty intense boot camp workouts 2x/week and yoga 2x/week. I track my exercise calories (just the intense stuff, don’t bother with yoga) w/ a heart rate monitor, and don’t usually eat my exercise calories back, maybe a couple hundred depending on how I’m feeling that day.

I don’t have a super specific diet really. I drink only water for the most part (and alcohol here and there lol, and post-workout chocolate milk, pretty occasional juice). Limited red meat, I sub turkey products a lot of the time, and lots of fish and chicken. I make a point, though, not to fully cut ANYTHING out. (Ok, that’s a lie, I have cut out ice cream in pint form because I will never be able to control myself lol!) If I want it, I’ll have it, just in moderation! I also take maybe a weekend out of every month or so to pretty much pig out, order pizza and eat that all weekend, whatever. Sounds crazy, but I think it’s helpful to jolt the metabolism once in a while so it doesn’t get used to coasting at 1200 or so calories a day for months on end!

Oh, and random tip, but Bolthouse Farms creamy yogurt-based dressings have been my saving grace the past couple of months! I have delicious and really indulgent-tasting salads all the time, seriously 5+ times a week, and the dressing is like 45 calories for 2 tbsp. I’ll usually either do a chicken caesar salad w/ some pre-cooked Tyson chicken strips or cubes and the caesar parmigianno dressing, or a romaine salad packed w/ fresh veggies and the really yummy ranch. Easy 100 cal-ish (w/o chicken, with croutons) meal!
