So I recently got married…woohooo!
I have always picked my nails (not bit them) so the bad tasting polish never worked. However, for my wedding I got biogel extensions put on with quite a thick gel overlay. My nails are hard like acylics and I can’t pick them if I tried.
I really love them but they are expensive! A fill will be $30 plus tax and tip every other week.
I know very little about nails and gel, acrylic, shellac etc…any ideas on how to reduce this cost? I want to make it so they cannot be picked at while letting my natural nail grow out and hopefully breaking the habit over the next few months.
Any ideas? Thanks Bees!

@missjewels: I purchased a shellac kit off ebay and do my nails myself.
They last between a week or two – not quite as thick as gels or acrylics but still strong enough not to bite 🙂
the kit was around $100 and came with 3 colours, a top and base coat, and the curing UV lamp.
It’s an investment if you think about it, considering a trip to the nail technican is $30 a pop!
i’ve had my kit for about a year and im only just running low on the base and top coat, and probably do my nails once a fortnight.
Sometimes I cheat and paint my nails with normal nail polish – once they are dry, just do do the base and top Shellac coats over the top to make them hard and nice and shiny 😛
hope that helps! 🙂
