There is a nail salon on 13th and 1st - the one closer to 13th, next to Dunkin Donuts, is $20 for mani/pedi, and I think they have 6 or 7 seats - they've always done a great job for me!
@hermitcrab: That's my go to spot. Chameleon. Was just there yesterday.
Manis are $8.50 and pedis are $22 (Spa Pedi $35).
My favorite mani is a hot cream mani and it includes a 10 minute chair massage for $23.
It's not a super luxurious spa though. There's also a really nice spot on 55th btw 6th and 7th that is very large and has a nice sitting area. It's called New York Nails & Spa.
i go to a QQ nails on 21st between broadway and park. it's fairly new and they have about 7 pedicure chairs. my friend took her BMs there and thought it was a nice experience. not the cheapest place, but i like it alot. plus, you can have all the mani/pedis put on one of their reward cards and get a ton of points to use for any service.
The place I go to has $10 pedi's and $5 manis'..its Niu Nails on 26th between 2nd and 3rd..its small though..only 4 seats for each manis and pedis...not luxurious at all BUT if you are ever looking for a cheapy place they do a good job! I got my nails done for my wedding here..
@KatNYC2011: I think that's the one across the street - this one is Aroma, $20 for a mani/pedi, $35 with a 15-min massage...but same difference! I wish I had known, how much more fun would it be to go with another Bee!
@hermitcrab: Hmmm I don't think I've been to Aroma, will have to try!
Chameleon is actually on 1st btw 15th and 16th (also next to a dunkin donuts), hence the confusion!
@KatNYC2011:Haha same neighborhood - and basically every other storefront is a salon!
@hermitcrab: Yup... and the others are either dunkin donuts, Starbucks, subway, or a pizza joint.
Thanks for all the replies! I will check these places out! If anyone else has recs, keep 'em coming!
@lauren810c: Niu Nails is my regular go to place as well! Don't you just love the plastic ivy lining the entryway? :)
@nyckitten: Yup! Love that! Not the most luxurious place, but can't be the prices! I always go first thing in the morning as soon as it opens so I don't have to wait!
i used to go to niu niu also! i lived on 28th street, so it was just around the corner. but now that i moved to the flatiron, i'm too lazy to walk, especially because there was always a wait!
@KatNYC2011: I live in Stuy Town and I think I've been to both of those! My go-to is Chameleon though, slightly more expensive but the experience is more relaxing. Prices are still fairly reasonable though.

Does anyone have recommendation for a good nail salon for me to treat my bridesmaids (6 of them) and myself to some pre-rehearsal mani/pedis? Preferably in the Gramercy/Flatiron/Chelsea/Union Square area? A regular old nail salon is fine as long as it is large enough to handle us! My standby favorite for cheap mani/pedis (Sally Spa on 3rd) doesn't have Shellac, which is what I had wanted to do for my nails.
Any recs??
