I recently got rid of acrylics and am using “after artificals” nail polish, suggested by the girl who used to do my nails. I have been very dilligent about removing and putting it on every night (2 coats!). By about halfway through the day though, both the after artificals, and the polish I put over it starts to peel off my nails to the point it curls up.
When I put it on, it’s 2 coats of the after artificals, 1 or 2 coats of color and 2 coats of top coat. I thought I was doing it right, but maybe not?
Can anybody make a suggestion to what I am doing wrong/what I can do to make it stick better wthout destroying my currently delicate nails?
I put a copy of this in welness, and have closed it.

@PurpleLibraSparkle: one of the things you are using is shrinking which is causing the peeling. What brand polish and top coat are you using? When I switched from Salley Hansen Hard As Nails top coat to a “fancier” one I noticed this happening too.

@PurpleLibraSparkle: Hey there, I’d suggest swiping your fingers with some alcohol before beginning your mani process! I’m not familiar with the product you’re using for repair but a completely dry nail bed can really help.

@MexiPino: Umm.. I use a cheap top coat, it’s called “Ice” I got it at WalMart, and I use a wide range of colored polishes anywhere from Orly to Ice to the cheapy BonBon ones. Usually it’s the higher end ones, but sometimes I like the colors of the cheapies!
@QuirkySocialite: I tried that Wednsday, it didn’t work, as that was what my nail girl told me to do. But my nails are bad, parts are flaking away still 🙁
