I have acrylics and I desperately miss my physical keyboard. My DH upgraded to the new Samsung Galaxy and I took on his Motorola DroidX and I HATE it. I have swipe and only an onscreen keyboard and it takes me forever to get anything typed. The voice command typing is actually pretty good and I find myself using that more now than battling with text. You can’t use your actual nail, you have to use your fingertips.

My DH says I will get used to the onscreen keyboard and that the physical keyboard is a thing of the past….major bummer. It has been five months and I am still struggling. 🙁

Depends on the length!  It does take awhile to get used to though.  I know I have a hard time pressing some buttons on my phone when I grow my nails out.

I do a sport length and use an iphone 4. Seems to work out fine for me.

@hiroshymatetrastar:  no problem. You just have to use the pad of your finger, not the tip. The nail gets in the way then.

@hiroshymatetrastar:  I always use the pad of my finger. My nails are very short (sport length) and squared as well.

Perhaps you will get used to it much quicker than it is taking me. Seriously there are days I am ready to throw this phone off a bridge.

You could get a stylus that way you don’t need to worry about your nails?

@hiroshymatetrastar:  That should work perfect!  My friend has short nails and she has no problems at all.

iPhones have a keyboard attachment you can get that means you can have a physical keyboard. I bet the Droid/Samsung do as well, if you’re looking to stay non-iPhone!
