Call the town hall and ask them, they will definitely know. I didn't know you needed to fill out the license any certain way. I know theres a spot that asks what will your name be after marriage? I put my married name as my answer but I'll still need to get copies of the license and send them to social security and stuff. Putting my husband's last name on the license didn't do anything to change my name.
I will still have to send things to Social Security and what not, but the marriage license also constitutes a name change document and I'm talking about what I need to do if I opt to change my name after we are already married. I know there is a procedure I have to follow, but I've gotten wildly conflicting info on what it is!

Dear legal bees, my Google-fu is really failing me here. if I don't change my name on our wedding license, what is the procedure I have to follow to change it afterward? I believe I have to go to court, but I have NO clue how to begin the process or where to go or even who to call to find out. I live in Boston and really need help on this one. I would so appreciate any insight you could give!
