Read the post about adding "de" in front of his last name- if you do this, what would your initials be? Example:
First Maiden de Married
here's an idea, one that i was certain for years i'd go with (though i ultimately have decided to opt out, taking my man's name): why don't you both pick a new name that has meaning for you and change it together? just a thought, and i still think it's a beautiful idea, i just also think that my man's last name goes particularly well with my first. :)
Neither my husband or I changed our names - (they're ours!) and we're fine. If you're having hesitations, why not wait? You can always change your name later if you want to.

Ive read some previous blogs and posts about name change apprehension. Now, Im experiencing it. Im going to get my marriage license tomorrow and I dont know what to do! We come from different cultures and his last name is soooooo long and sounds kinda funny too. I wish I could only take a part of it but I dont know how to talk to him about this. Plus, I love my middle name so I dont really want to give that up- and my last name is pretty average so to replace my middle with my maiden would be disappointing. HELP!
