Well, I guess not... I think the main reason you do that is to be more specific about who exactly is invited. You might not want (or have room) to list children's names on the outer envelope. You might want to invite a couple who are not living together, but not send separate invitations. The handy thing about the inner envelope is that you can address the outer one to Ms. Nyema Maria, and then on the inner envelope have Nyema Maria and Boy Friend. But if that's not an issue with your guests, I don't see why you can't leave the inner envelope blank.

it's probably weird that i did this, but i put that on the mailing address (outer envelope) i just didn't see a reason to buy MORE envelopes and waste more paper.
Do you have to put names on the inner envelope?
