Okay so how important are personalized napkins anyway?? I mean is it really a neccessity...If I put them by the cake they'll be used and thrown away...right....Do people really keep them...Hive I need help...Should I buy personalized napkins or just get some colorful napkins for the cake area....

Ohh F.Y.I.-This may help you to help me....each guest will have a cloth dinner napkin, therefore these napkins will only be needed for the cake area...which will actually be cupcakes..

I wouldn't get them and I would spend money in other areas.

I know some people like them, but for us, I didn't think they were necessary.  We used the cloth napkins for dinner and the paper cocktail napkins (in white) for the bar.  For me, I didn't want to spend the money on something that was meant to be thrown away.

I went through the same issue of debating whether or not we should have personalized napkins after falling in love with them. After stumbling across info on projectwedding of one bride making them herself, I decided that I could just make them. I made ~300 of them for about $20 which I know is a lot cheaper than what they sell for.

Here is the posting on how to do it and a pic of how they came out

I thought about it too, I thought they might be fun to have...and then I quoted it out and realized that it might not be worth it. It might be a detail only I would care about and on the day I won't know or care what kind of napkins there are.

If your guests are going to have cloth napkins anyways, then I would say that it's just a bit of a splurge/waste of money to provide personalized paper napkins, too. If it was me, I probably wouldn't provide any paper napkins.

I bought the beverage napkins for the bar that are personalized.  Did you get cloth napkins for dinner?  They can just use those for the cake!  And you actually don't need personalized napkins for the bar either... I got them because I want one for my scrapbook lol.  I think ours came out to be $37 for 100 with shipping.

I think they are a fun additon for a small price but after getting lots of other things personalized (if you already have bottled water, mints, etc, etc, etc) it begins to be a bit of overkill.

    Good luck :)

I am planning on gocco'ing "bar" napkins like Mrs. Cupcake did. It will only cost me the cost of the napkins and the screen/bulbs which I already have. Some people may think "what's the point, they will got thrown away anyway"... but so will everything else! (Sadly).

Its not necessary, its just a fun addition if it fits in your budget.  I wanted them and by the time I decided to purchase them, my MIL already had!  She told me about them and asked my opinion for those and matches but I thought they were for the rehearsal dinner.  I was very happy when I found out they were for the reception!  All the napkins were used but we had a ton of matchbooks left over.

They were fun...my mom wanted them so we did end up getting them. But I think we would have been just as happy with colorful napkins that matched our scheme.
